The diversity of stories in this collection is astounding! There are excellent military SF stories here (like “The Trouble with Telepaths” by Hank Davis and the deeply moving “Remember Day” by Sarah Pinkster) alongside old-school adventure SF stories (Joe Lansdale's “The Wizard of the Trees”) and even some that could be described as experimental (“This is the Way the Universe Ends: With a Bang” by Brian Dolton). My online vote for Best Story went to “Gyre” by Brad Torgerson, a story that exemplifies his signature mix of “hard” SF with compelling characters and storyline.
