The Yesterday Shoppe: Christmas and the New Year in the Carson Valley
The first three books in The Yesterday Shoppe series presented nine fictional stories or individuals whose lives were wonderfully affected by an item from one of The Shoppes. With a bit or poetic license, each of the stories is based on real life experiences of friends, family or close associates. In this book, I have decided to present a wide variety of stories that come, in various forms, from the community in which I have lived for the past 25 years...the Carson Valley. There are those who believe that I often live in a "fantasy world" in which inanimate objects can sometimes touch people's lives in a wonderful way. To those, I would simply say "we see what we want to see, we hear what we want to hear, and we believe what we want to believe." I believe that life is a wonderful gift, and that every day we are given a choice of immersing ourselves in joy or sorrow, love or anger, happiness or despair, curiosity or fear, overcast skies or rainbows. Every minute, I choose to fill my life with...joy, love, happiness, curiosity and rainbows!
