Gr 1-5 In her latest photographic essay, Bellville captures and explains much of the magic of the theater. In this case, she follows the well-respected Children's Theatre Company of Minneapolis through all phases of the production of Andersen's The Nightingale. The text is clearly written and explains unfamiliar terms. The photographs are sharp and capture the essence of the text. It is unfortunate that not all of the photographs are in color, considering the splendor of the sets and costumes. Photographs notwithstanding, this is a much-needed introduction to the mechanics of theater for younger children. Denise A. Anton, Corn Belt Library System, Normal, Ill.
