About the Author

Mick is a director, playwright and essayist. He is Artistic Director of On Theatre and On Film. He was Trevor Nunn's Associate Director at the Royal National Theatre and was Director of the National's Transformation Season. He was Artistic Director of the Gate Theatre from 1998-2000. He has written eight plays. These and his latest essays are published by Oberon Books.

Awards include the Critics Circle Award for Most Promising Newcomer and the Peter Brook Award for Most Outstanding Theatre . He graduated from Oxford with first class honours.
