The NIV Thematic Reference Bible provides a system of Bible reading and studying which will open up the Scriptures as the Bible comments on and clarifies itself. Readers can identify and explore the leading themes of Scripture, see how themes interweave and develop through the Bible, and come into direct contact with and rapidly access the relevant Scriptures with minimum comment. A total of 120,000 theme references appear, over half of them in the margins of the Bible pages indicating the key themes. Over 2,000 themes appear in the Thematic Section, including an explanation of each, key Bible references, and cross references to related themes. The classification system for the themes is as follows: God, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit, Creation, Humanity, Sin and Salvation, God's people, The Life of the Believer, and Last Things. Also included are almost 200 panels giving more detailed descriptions of key themes and an alphabetical index of themes, panels, and book introductions.
