About the Author

Kathy is a 65-year-old successful entrepreneur. She is a single parent who raised a son with grandma’s help. She has been called an over-achiever and a workaholic, but the truth is she just happens to love her job. Kathy has owned and operated a dog grooming business, The Clip Joint, in Madison, Wisconsin for the past 46-years. She knew what she wanted to do for a living when she was 13 years old. She was going to be a professional dog groomer.
When Kathy was 10 years old she got her first dog, it was a black Miniature Poodle named Pierre. Her Dad told her, “If I get you this poodle puppy you will have to learn how to groom him yourself.” And she did. That was the beginning of her wonderful journey. Kathy joined 4-H and took Pierre through all the levels of dog obedience classes they had to offer. She became a dog trainer for 4-H and loved every minute of it. She was also a dog trainer for the local Kennel Club. There were several members in the club that were professional dog groomers and with their help and guidance Kathy turned out to be quite the dog groomer herself.
Kathy has loved every dog she has owned. Each one of them had their own individual personality. Kathy nursed them through puppy hood, survived adolescence, enjoyed adulthood, was there for them during their senior years and then, sadly, lovingly said good-bye to them. Having a dog was always worth it to her. Kathy would never be without one.
