Overview

The Thieves of Heaven by Richard Doetsch

The most closely Guarded treasure on Earth.

An explosive ancient secret.

A breakneck journey into the heart of the Vatican.

In a small, heavily fortified room just north of the Sistine Chapel, a master thief is about to strike. All he needs is an instant–to steal the most important treasure in the Vatican museum: two antique keys–one gold, one silver–that protect the secret of salvation….

But a surprise awaits Michael St. Pierre deep inside the Vatican, an ancient secret so explosive, it sends him running for his life—from the streets of Rome to a small stone church in Israel—with two stolen keys and a terrible realization: the consequences of his desperate, brazen act are far greater than he could ever have imagined.

For the treasure he has uncovered—the gleaming prize buried within the most clandestine structure on earth—is about to bring him face-to-face with an enemy more shocking, frightening, and insidious than anyone can guess....

Although it had some slow spots, it was my best read in ages. The characters are believable, the ending makes you think

For those who enjoy religious-themed novels, this is for you. The author has written several in this genre, and it is hoped he will continue to weave similar stories. I have read three of his works, and have two others waiting to be read. If you like these types of novels, add this author to your list of favorite authors. You will, once you read one of his books.

I was not impressed. He really wanted you to know he was doing this for Mary and it braught the story down. I just could not get into it. evry other page he was hammering home the point it was being done for mary and it was plain tiring. The end was disjionted and very uneven. Boring

I picked this book up and could not put it down. The story flows nicely with only a few places it could have been improved, but a phenomenal first book, and intriguing story. I would recommend this book to anyone. Truly refreshing to read this.

The central character Michael St. Pierre is a classic figure who risks it all on blind faith...and finds redemption in the journey. A wonderful thrilling ride as he truly risks heaven and earth and discovers the power of faith that he never knew would be so powerful. GREAT NOVEL..looking forward to the next work by Doetsch.

What a great story! Put it on your summer read list and you won't be disappointed. Within the overload of all the 'Da Vinci Code' type stories is this high-suspense, tiwst-and-turn plot that is pure pleasure to read. The uniquely spritual/religious slant made every page turned worth the read.

This book was (and still is) so good! Some parts are quite freaky, in the usual horror sense. I had to sleep with the light on! Haha anyway, this is a good read, questions religion to some extent but not with the usual type like Da Vinci Code or any Knights Templar. Very good, fresh topics for the reader!
