Mark Zuckerberg has abominabally broken into the closed off media gathering space of internet social introverts and readers to batter ram down the barriers and construct a newly refurbished site that is open to all right now, by way of an usurpative lobby funded by trackers and reactionariers looking for the proverbial pied pipers of economic expansion.

"We cannot imagine our lives without Facebook—it created a sweet addiction of 24/7 connection and information flow that we apparently all craved. We check Facebook before we go to bed and first thing in the morning when we wake up. It allows us to show the world our own unique identities, our own brands. It allows us to tell our stories, stories that can be heard at scale. It allows us to build global communities and rally around causes we are passionate about, enabling energized citizens to turn themselves into activists." --- Ekaterina Walter Why should a website created by a Harvard drop-out that originally brought together college friends to share photographs and status updates about their lives have one billion users as of September 2012? Ekaterina Walter provides the secrets to Facebook's phenomenal success in this highly informative and entertaining book. This book is a detailed view and analysis behind why Facebook wields so much power, reach and influence after less than a decade in existence. Organized Format There is a lengthy informative introduction, five fairly long chapters, an epilogue, along with a very detailed notes section and index. The author has a passionate and engaging writing style. You sense that her commitment to this project goes far beyond preaching the gospel of Facebook. She detailed heartwarming stories such as Donette Warren's use of Facebook to find a kidney donor for her daughter, Vivica. These important examples demonstrate why Facebook is much more than a site to share status updates and pictures. Tremendous Research The author presents voluminous research, attributed quotes from a variety of sources and thought-provoking anecdotes how Facebook has changed lives. Her presentation about the life and times of Mark Zuckerberg is a masterclass. For example, the discussion about TOMS shoes and how the idea was conceived to help children in Argentina was excellent; however, others, such as CollegeHumor, were also informative and tangentially reinforced the reasons behind Facebook's success.Notable Quotes Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook 101 If you landed on planet earth and wondered what the fuss was about this thing called Facebook, this book would bring you up to warp speed. The author has produced a tremendous body of work about a man and company who have revolutionized how we live our lives. 'This morning, there are more than one billion people using Facebook actively each month. If you’re reading this: thank you for giving me and my little team the honor of serving you. Helping a billion people connect is amazing, humbling and by far the thing I am most proud of in my life. I am committed to working every day to make Facebook better for you, and hopefully together one day we will be able to connect the rest of the world too.' --- Mark Zuckerberg in his Facebook status update on October 4, 2012.
