This book was exactly what I needed to jumpstart my stalled writing. I've heard the author speak twice to regional writing groups, and I'm so glad I finally picked up THINKING WRITE. Start to finish, it's filled with ways to get creative and tap into your subconscious (your muse) to get the solutions you need to writing issues. Additionally, many of the techniques she teaches can be applied to other aspects of your life, not just writing. This was very eye-opening and well-written, well-organized, well-researched. I'll be returning to this book and browsing certain sections as the need arises. Great stuff!

Very good book. The problem is that the cd is really necesary, so the relax teqniques can be useful. Ebook doen´t came with the cd (or legal mp3s) and it costs almost the same as paper book. Shame on you!

This book and its accompanying disc are terrific....They offer a fresh approach to overcoming many of the problems faced by the professional and fledgling writer alike. The relaxation techniques and methods of accessing the subconscious for creative purposes are interesting and effective....I think that most writers will find this to be one of those books you will want to keep close at hand.....

This is one of the books about writing that I actually finished reading. What she covers in the book can be used in life in general not just writing. It's all about getting to your subconscious. I'm still keeping a dream journal. A very interesting angle to writing and well worth the read.

I'm not easily swayed by a lot of self help books, but as a writer - and an artist - I was surprised in a nice way by Kelly L. Stone's latest book THINKING WRITE. Based on the title, it's obviously geared to writers, but I feel anyone with a creative nature will find this book extremely interesting and useful. We're told we use a very small percentage of our intellect based on what the human mind is capable of - using this book will help tap hidden resources we develop from the time we open our eyes as a child. Think of all the incredible things you've seen along the way since birth and how many times you've had an idea that escaped you later. Wouldn't it be nice to delve back into your mental storage files and pull up something when you need it? Writers often go to sleep thinking on a story and find the answer to a problem while asleep when their minds are free to roam. Kelly explains how brilliant creators like Thomas Edison used the hypnagogic state to find solutions - a method she shares in the book. Lightning didn't automatically end up you light socket. <grin> THINKING WRITE teaches you how to do that at will, not just when it happens to hit. And...the book comes with a meditative CD for writers. Kelly brought us a terrific book with TIME TO WRITE that answered how all level of writers up to best selling authors find the time to write. Now she's brought us a gift for our muse with THINKING WRITE. NYT best selling author Dianna Love
