STOP! BEWARE! CAUTION! Only read this book if you enjoy suspense, romance, mystery, wit, humor, laughing, sarcasm, and great characters woven through a wonderful novel and brought to life with amazing writing from an outstanding author! Thank goodness Charley Davidson is a woman! No man could multitask like Charley! She is a crime solving private investigator that is busy solving a missing persons case, while at the same time trying to keep a motorcycle gang in check and trying (hopelessly) to forget Reyes Farrow (why anyone would want to do that, I will never know). Just a little side note here.Reyes Farrow is the son of Satan. Yes, THE Satan. But serious, who cares.he is out of this world gorgeous! And, if she is not busy enough, she is THE Grim Reaper-helping those who have died pass on to the other side and helping with those little last requests. Of course, Charley could do not any of this without the help of her secretary and BFF Cookie! Gotta love Cookie! Oh.and COFFEE! What an amazing read! After reading "First Grave on the Right" I thought..NOT FAIR! NOT FAIR! After reading "Second Grave on the Left" I thought. AGAIN! NOT FAIR! After reading "Third Grave Dead Ahead" I am there going to be a 4th book Darynda? Because if this tale you have begun to weave comes to an end.I am going to have to say.NOT FAIR!!! Thanks for entertaining me with a wonderful read! Waiting patiently for " Fourth Grave Right Behind" Ha-ha-ha!! Who am I kidding.I can't wait!

Everyone who enjoys humour with their UF review I was so looking forward to this book...and I wasn't disappointed! Darynda Jones's zany, at times corny but always funny humour is back. I found myself at times groaning, laughing out loud and overall just smiling. It isn't too often a book can wring all this emotion but Charley, Cookie, Reyes and all sure take you on a roller coaster. I was almost in tears at one point with Charley's relationship with her Dad hurting her so much. I could feel her pain. I enjoyed how Reyes's story unfolded and gave him a more fleshed out back ground. Most of what we learned was alluded to in previous books but it was nice to have it confirmed. We go from highs to lows back to highs and then drop us down to the lowest low and then she twists us up again with a surprise ending. Her secondary characters also jump off the pages at you. Cookie, Ubie, Garrett, and the Davidson family all bring a unique humour and help move the story ahead. I love this author she is innovative, and in a field that at times you feel you keep reading the same story over and over Charley Davidson is definitely unique. I can't wait for the Fourth book in this series! I know Charley is going to get up to no good...and what the heck is happening with her and Reyes...I need to know!!! A solid 5 stars for this fantastic tale with side splitting laughs...oh...and where does Charley get her t shirts and bumper stickers..I need to get me some of them! (less)

My Review: Whoa! What a rollercoaster ride. This book was nothing short of amazing. I think that I held my breath through at least half the book. I loved everything about this book. First thing to know before you read this review. This is a series that you need to read every book. These are not stand-alone novels. Knowing that, this review will have some spoilers for the first two books...DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU HAVEN'T READ BOOKS #1 & #2. When this book starts, Reyes is seriously ticked off at Charley because she bound his spirit to his body at the end of book #2. Now he is trapped there until she falls asleep. Somehow, Charley is calling him to her immediately when she falls asleep and they have really angry corporeal/dream sex. As a result, Charley hasn't let herself fall asleep in about 2 weeks and is more than a little loopy at the beginning of this book (and she's not what anyone could consider normal on a typical day...LOL!) The moment between the two of them at the prison...remember this is the first time that she's actually seen him face to face when they were both conscious...EVER!-- that moment and his confession just broke my heart. This is what Darynda does so well. Reyes is the son of Satan and he does some not-so-nice things. He should not be a character that you fall in love with, but OMG! How can you not fall in love with this guy?!?! He has these moments where your heart just crumbles for him...and he had several of those moments throughout this book. Of course, then there are the other moments where you just want to scream and yell at him and tell him to stay away from Charley and stop hurting her. *sob* Did I mention that I cried in this book? Twice! But that was in between huge bouts of laughter and fun and anger. OMG, this book had it ALL!!! And to complicate things...hmmm, there are a couple of other love prospects on the horizon for Charley. Oh my!! I honestly don't know who I even want her to end up with...that's how good this book is. It's over. The hints are there for book #4 and I don't know who I want her to be with. I ALWAYS know who I want the heroine to choose! This time...not so much. Darynda is just a brilliant writer. This book has everything. There are the normal mysteries happening. TONS of Charley Davidson wit and snark which constantly keeps me giggling through these books. There were several swoon-worthy moment between Charley and Reyes. Some completely fantastic new characters that I love how they are adding to the story. And a fantastic friend who's been there all along with hints of more. OMG!! Did I mention that I loved this book? I apologize for the bad grammar and awful writing. It's hard to gush and stay focused...or maybe Charley is just rubbing off on me. LOVE!

A fresh series that is really truly original! This series has gotten better with every book. A true testament to a great author...that she can make each book outshine the last. I was either laughing out loud by all the great humor...or on the edge of my seat by the suspense. I loved it. Charley is the BEST and I do love Reyes. I am just mad at myself for devouring the book so quickly...I truly will be looking forward to the 4th book (please hurry!) This book just set up endless possibilities for future books...and I can't wait.

I thought this series would start to wear thin after a couple books, but it just keeps getting better and more intriguing.

Not so sexy that it's disgusting to older readers like myself but just the right blend of fun, sexy and bad ass action.

I generally find Darynda Jones's writing to be hilarious and entertaining reads. However, I've noticed a rather annoying trend of hers. She has a tendency to repeat information well... repeatedly. After reading Second Grave on the Left, I jumped right into the third book in the series only to find myself rolling my eyes in annoyance. She repeats what happened in the last book in so much detail that I could have skipped over reading that book altogether. Not to mention the fact that she spews the same facts about each character all over again in EVERY SINGLE BOOK. How many times must I read that Charley is a PI who got into the business because she spent time helping her father and uncle--who happens to be a cop--solve murders with her ability to speak with the departed? How many times must I read about Cookie, her neighbor and secretary who she pays too little? How many times must I read about Reyes Farrow's past with his father and the abuse he suffered in order to protect his sister? These details are filtered in repeatedly and it's quite unnecessary. I feel like readers will remember these details from book to book. Why waste from 30 upward to 60 pages rehashing old details. As amusing as it is to hear about Mr. Wong who perpetually stands in the corner staring at the wall, why must  I reread that he never speaks and she knows nothing about him? Simply put, I like the series enough but I find myself skipping over the parts that drone on and on about NOTHING or details we've been introduced to before.

I wish they would make them into movies but i am perfectly happy with the books. Can't wait for "Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet" to be released, hurry up October!!!!!

I Love this Series. What a great series, I seriously neglected some much needed housework in lieu of reading. I stumbled across the series by winning the 4th book and then had to get the first 3 in order so see how it all started. I like the characters and the storyline and especially the witty writing and inner dialog of Charley. Lots of action and mystery and some steamy romance. Can't wait to see what will happen next. You don't necessarily need to read the books in order since the Author will give some backstories as the book develops, this series will definitely make my list of books that I like to read over and over again. Very entertaining.

Many have recommend the Charley Davidson series to me and now I’ve finally picked it up. I’ve been really enjoying this series and how things are progressing. The series does need to be read or listened to in order. Third Grave Dead Ahead is full of mysteries, betrayals, heartache, and revelations. There is a lot going on in this installment; with three different mystery’s happening, understanding exactly what Charley can do, and Charley now trying to get in and out of the asylum without the biker club catching her. The overall plot moved along well and now I know a bit more about Charley and her abilities, though we are not finished learning what she can do as the Grim Reaper. Their is much more to discover. I love the friendship Charley has with Cookie. Cookie is a great secondary character and just adds to the story. The witty humor continues to be fun, but at times if feel like Charley uses it to mask her stupid mistakes or maybe it’s her way of copping with a difficult and stressful situation. I do have to say I was rolling my eyes at some of the things Charley did in this one and I will point out that I didn’t care for how this one started, dream sex. Other then that I had fun and enjoyed the story and progress happening. Reyes of course plays a part in the story. He’s got his own agenda in Third Grave Dead Ahead and once Charley figures it out, it’s almost too late. Then to top it off she’s got her investigations and her family to deal with. She really hasn’t had it easy and dons’t have many people on her side. I was angry and sad for Charley. The men in her life really upset me. What Reyes and her father do, really made me sad. The Narrator, Lorelei King continues to make this series enjoyable. She does an outstanding job bringing Charley to life and all the characters. I continue to appreciate and like the audio version for this series. If you enjoy snarky humor and a good mystery then give the Charley Davidson series a try. I highly recommend the audio version for the series. Rated: 3.5 Stars

Charley Davidson.....occupation, Grim Reaper and Private Investigator. She just so happens to be pretty smitten by Reyes Farrow who also happens to be the Son of satan. Needless to say there is never a dull moment in Charley's world! Since she bound Reyes to his corporeal body, he has been showing up in here dreams every time she closes her eyes, so she is bound and determined to stay awake no matter how much coffee that takes. On top of that all, she has a missing woman to find, a shady husband/doctor the suspect, a motorcycle gang who is out for vengence, and Reyes mortal father isn't dead after all. Yea...just another lovely day in paradise. LOVED IT! I can't wait to buy the next book. I knew after reading book one that I would binge read this series. And I have. I read books 1-3 in 2.5 days. I am loving this. Darynda manages to do comedy, suspense, and smoking hot romance and it all just works together. Such a talanted author! Can't wait for more!

Third Grave Dead Ahead is the third installment in Darynda Jones's paranormal mystery series titled: Charley Davidson. Charley is our heroine in this series, and she is in fact the Grim Reaper. I love this concept! ...and I love her! Charley is just an amazing heroine! She's got attitude, loyalty, a wild sense of humor, and a real-life dream man. Yep, sexy, sexy dream man... The series as a whole presents an ongoing story line that would be best enjoyed in order; however, there is a separate mystery presented in each book. After all, Charley works a day job as a private investigator as a front for her real line of work. There are tons of characters who make both exits and entrances in each installment so you never get bored with anyone during the series. I loved the first book, the second book was OK, and this third one is back on track and has me already looking for the next installment. If you haven't tried this series yet, you've got to check it out! My favorite quote: "I strode towards Mr. Coffee with lust in my eyes. We'd had a thing, Mr. Coffee and I, and there was just enough of him left for one more cup. No need to make a fresh pot, to get him all hot and bothered."

This series has been gripping, but if the publishers think people are going to pay seven ninety-nine for a low cost to publish ebook, they are delusional. Kitt
