First, I had to remember how to breathe. Then, I had to learn how to survive. Two years, three months and sixteen days had passed since I was the Rowe Stanton from before, since tragedy stole my youth and my heart went along with it.

When I left for college, I put a thousand miles between my future and my past. I’d made a choice—I was going to cross back to the other side, to live with the living. I just didn’t know how.

And then I met Nate Preeter.

An All-American baseball player, Nate wasn’t supposed to notice a ghost-of-a-girl like me. But he did. He shouldn’t want to know my name. But he did. And when he learned my secret and saw the scars it left behind, he was supposed to run. But he didn’t.

My heart was dead, and I was never supposed to belong to anyone. But Nate Preeter had me feeling, and he made me want to be his. He showed me everything I was missing.

And then he showed me how to fall.

Rowe heads off to college after being home schooled for 2 yrs after tragedy struck her high school. She needs this to be able to move on and let the past be the past.  She meets Nate and his brother Ty and her old self slowly starts to make its appearance. And she surprises herself at every turn with the progress she's making within. And with Nate. There's a lot to overcome but with Nate by her side, she can get thru the toughest times. ~~~~ Oh. My. Goodness. Loved it!! A heartbreaking and sweet story. I laughed and I cried. Sometimes at the same time. These characters are awesome and are a great fit! There was nothing about this book I didn't like. Highly recommended! *I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

I just love Ginger Scott's writing and have read several books by her, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed.  This is Falling is the story of Rowe Stanton and Nate Preeter.  It's Rowe's first year at college, something that is a really huge step for her.  It's been a little of two years since she had her heart ripped to pieces and was left the shell of the girl she used to be.  Consumed by a mixture of sorrow, grief, guilt, and fear, the littlest things to you and I are really big for Rowe.  Nate Pretter is the catcher for the baseball team and he's very good and has been sought out by many colleges.  He's definitely a hot jock, but he's also down to earth, and he's just what Rowe needs.   Nate is captivated by Rowe and gradually manages to chip away the walls she has constructed around herself because of the past.  Nate has his own hurts he's trying to get over and he's not perfect, and definitely screws up a couple of times, but the things he does right, are oh so right, and he more than makes up for his screw-ups.  Their relationship is sweet, funny, heart-wrenching at times, and they definitely have chemistry that is sizzling.  I loved watching their relationship progress and Ginger Scott did an excellent job of addressing a really difficult issue that has affected so many in our country, giving you an up close and personal view from the perspective of one fictional victim that portrays the picture of what so many real-life people have gone through, enabling you to see things from the other side of the looking glass.   While it sounds very serious, and it is, there was just the right amount of humor to inserted as well, and the secondary characters were awesome.  You will fall in love with Nate's brother Ty, who will be getting his own story next.  This is Falling is a gripping and beautifully done romance that I would definitely recommend checking out.

I liked This is Falling. The characters were mostly likable. The story was interesting. My heart broke for Rowe and what she went through in the past. It was a quick and easy read that was big on the feels.  Rowe was pretty easy to understand and like. I thoroughly enjoyed her sassy and playful side, even though it was such a stark contrast to her insecure and traumatized side. If I'm honest, I didn't LOVE Nate though. He was just a little too vanilla for me. There were moments where I absolutely adored him and then others where I found him too bland. Now, Nate's brother, Ty, was freaking fantastic, however. I could barely get enough of him in this book, and I can't wait for his story.  I loved that Nate pushed her, but never too hard. He wanted to help her move on from her tragic past. They were sweet together. They had a playful dynamic that was cute, if immature at times. (I could have lived without the fart jokes. It's just not my thing.) Regardless of my tiny issue with that, it was impossible not to enjoy the two of them together and realize what a great pair they made. They pushed each other in ways they both needed and I rooted for them from the start.  The story of Rowe's recovery and her second chance love with Nate was great. Sure, there were some things that happened in the plot that I definitely could have lived without – they seemed like unnecessary strife to me – but, all in all this was a lovely story. With Nate, Rowe learned it's possible to grieve the past, but live in the present. She survived, she has a future and that's ok. The pain and guilt will both subside with time.  This is Falling is my first Ginger Scott book, but it definitely won't be my last. It kept me hooked from beginning to end and tugged at my heartstrings. I am really looking forward to the sequel, Ty's book, You and Everything After.   I received a copy of this book from the author, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

THIS IS FALLING tells the story of Rowe Stanton, a broken girl trying to live a normal life at college. It follows her first semester at an Oklahoma university as she picks up the pieces and puts her life back together after a horrible tragedy. Ginger Scott takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster as she tells the story of Nate and Rowe. Her use of first-person narration from both Rowe’s and Nate’s point-of-view is highly effective, giving the reader a much better reading experience and heightening the story action.  The characters are extraordinarily well-drawn and appealing. Each one comes with their own baggage, all of which adds to the well-told tale but doesn’t distract from the book’s main story of Nate and Rowe. I especially enjoyed the humor that was scattered throughout the book. The pranks and jokes that are common with college dormitory life are shown in the best light and I found myself laughing frequently. The book is the first in a series that will follow Nate and Rowe as they continue to navigate the early stages of their romance at college. THIS IS FALLING is a good addition to any romance fan’s reading list and I highly recommend it.

I read this book straight through smiling , laughing ,hating, crying and loving Rowe, Nate,Cass,Ty, Paige-and Josh....let's not forget Josh because without him there wouldn't be this beautiful thought provoking tale. One beautiful determined girl trying to recover from a crippling loss and barely living and the boy, who through freindship, acceptance and love helps learn to trust again. This Is Falling in the first novel by Ginger Scott that I have had the pleasure of reading and I am so glad I got the opportunity to experience this beautiful story. I absolutely devoured this book, never losing my need to know these characters. Of course it doesn’t hurt that Nate is practically my ideal book boyfriend. Even the secondary characters had me emotionally attached to them in an instant. The relationships between the various characters provided the framework for this story and infused this tale with life. Rowe was a phenomenal character. Everything about her was raw and real. Ginger Scott skillfully manifested Rowe’s pain and heartache in every gesture, every conversation and every decision she makes throughout the story. Rowe undergoes such an incredible character transformation over the course of this story and Ginger made sure her personal growth was relatable, took time and didn’t feel forced. Rowe and Nate had a chemistry that was undeniable. Their hilarious banter, ridiculous pranks, and intensely honest moments really brought this book to life. There is something magical about a love story set on a college campus. The carefree attitude, enthusiasm for life, thirst for knowledge and hope for the future that permeates the campus atmosphere is intoxicating. Ginger made Nate and Rowe’s experiences my experiences and I could feel their struggles and fears in my own heart. I felt completely transported into their world, solidifying my connection to these fantastic characters. Their broken pieces called to me, and gave me more reason to love this duo that feels so genuine. This Is Falling is an emotional and stunning journey of loss, love and letting go. I didn’t expect the path that this book took, but once I was on this journey, I was completely consumed by it. The secrets and truths that come to light in this story were heartbreaking and I’ll admit I ugly cried harder than I had in a long time. I adored Nate and Rowe and I am already way too anxious for Ty’s book. I will definitely be reading more from this great author.

I was hooked on Rowe's mysterious background right from the start. The writing in this book was so vivid that I felt myself growing anxious whenever Rowe did in the story. I loved Nate's calming presence throughout the book. I also loved how invested he became in Rowe and how he could set her at ease. When Rowe finally told Nate about her past, it stole the air from the room. It was a lot for her to share and even more for her to overcome. I enjoyed watching her grow into a stronger and more assured person thanks to Nate, despite how difficult it was for her. Their romance was truly a journey where trust and understanding played a huge role. Once they were able to communicate their feelings to one another, they could finally work at building a beautiful future. This book was absolutely lovely to read.

5 “Falling” Stars! My Favorite Type of Read! The Review: I. LOVED. THIS. READ! Superbly written, beautiful, sweet, often funny, loads of angsts and a phenomenal cast of characters. Books like this one is the reason I swoon over romance. The author and her characters totally captured my heart. Story/Characters... Rowe has left a painful past behind but it still very much follows her, haunts her and shadows everything in her present. She’s trying to find a way to cope but the pull back to her past is strong and almost overpowering. She’s decided to try and move forward but it’s scary and she honestly doesn't know if she’ll make it. On her first day of college, she meets her fun and outgoing roommates... and the irresistible Nate Preeter, who opens her eyes to a whole new world of friendships, fun and love. Rowe’s past is heartbreaking (and when I say heartbreaking, I mean Heart. Breaking! Ugg, so sad...) and tragic, but I loved her strength and her heroic attempts to move forward. Watching her find love again after all she’d lost and been through was amazing and intense. I loved that even with her past, her bright light hadn’t been fully extinguished. She knew how to have fun as she showed Nate first hand with their prank wars. She was scared and timid but brave and strong. Nate has a type and the moment he sees Rowe, he’s sunk. She has a shy, quiet, simple personality and there’s something alluring that pulls him right in. But nothing prepared him for the shadow that follows Rowe. However, when the secrets come out, this guy... wow, how do I describe how amazing he is? I’ve read some amazing heroes before. I have a horde of book boyfriends that I love and adore, but Nate? He’s in a league of his own. His kindness, his gentleness, his understanding and his giving heart were unique amongst other heroes. He was solid and strong and he was there for Rowe in every way. And even when things seemed impossible, he persevered and never gave up on Rowe. He was a true-blue romance hero and I loved him! Rowe and Nate together were electric with amazing chemistry, sexy moments, wonderful dialogue with real depth and feelings. As much angsts as there was in this read, the author gave us fun too. There were so many laugh out loud moments and scenes I will never forget. The Wrap Up: Told in alternating POV’s between Rowe and Nate, this was just a real joy to read. I was consumed from the moment I read the opener and I sat through it in one reading, refusing to put it down. And when I hit that last page? I literally sighed and smiled huge. Final recommendation? Read. It!

IS AMAZING!!!! It tells the life of a girl named Rowe who (after a terrible event that happened to her in school) desides to be brave and go to collage. There she meets Nate. OMG Nate.... how do u explain Nate...? Well he's the kind of guy that would walk across the moon for Rowe. He loves her beyond human comprehension. And Rowe loves him back but she doubts herself and constantly second guesses herself. But Nate helps her find her true self the person she is on the inside. This book takes u on an emotional rollar coster and will have u laughing and crying and wishing u could step inside the world of Nate and Rowe. The characters are written beautifly and seem like real life. Rowe is someone who u would totally want to be friends with and Nate is the PERFECT boyfriend and is somebody every girl wishes she had him in her life. This book is so beautif (I cried) and one of my all time faves. Readers will fall in love with Nate and Rowe's story from page one. ;)

Totally crying as I write this. I love this story and how deeply you feel for Rowe and the tragedy she's been through. And Nate is a saint, simply perfect in balancing what she needs and what she thinks she needs. The letter from Josh/Nate is amazingly beautiful. This story gives me hope that the innocence of youth that have lived a tragedy like this can find strength and carve a new path. Amazing story, laugh out loud worth the tears it brings.

Upon finishing, my initial reaction: I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying. Fine, I'm crying. Beautiful tears. Full review to come. My Thoughts (full review): Have you ever picked up a book and thought, "Hmm...I think this one is going to be a very touching story...I must read it," and then you read it and you find yourself overwhelmed with feels? THIS BOOK, you guys. This book was that book. I sincerely hope it comes out in paperback because I want to hold it in my hands SO BAD. I had a strong adoration for both Rowe and Nate--like immense adoration. Rowe has been through the ringer in life, and still is. I won't get super spoilery (even though it's not necessarily a spoiler), but there was a shooting that happened while she was in high school which has seriously impacted the way she lives her life now. Nate wants her to let him in, but she's reluctant because of the past. After a little bit of time, they open up to each other and it's a beautiful thing. So. Freaking. Beautiful. I just... I can't even begin to explain it. You just need to read for yourself. This Is Falling made me fall in love. It is a shining example of how New Adult should be--honest and real and full of love and life and growing into who you are. I liked seeing Rowe learn to live again after so much pain in life. Ginger Scott had me addicted to the words on the page. The ending had me sobbing--and I rarely sob reading books. All I can say is NATE'S LETTER. *swoony sighs and tears* I want a Nate of my own. Amazing times infinity and HIGHLY recommended. My Rating: Exceptional

I absolutely LOVED this book. At times I was laughing so hard I almost peed my pants. Lol. And other times I was crying so hard I couldn't see. My heart ached so bad for Rowe, she has survived such a devestating situation. Nate and Ty have to be two of the sweetest brothers ever. The chemistry between Nate and Rowe is off the charts. Their relationship is dificult but so heartwarming. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

Where do I start without giving anything away? This book follows Rowe & Nate at the start of college, except right off the bat you know that Rowe is not your typical teenage girl. Things get referenced about some of her fears & phobias & that she was homeschooled the last 2 years of high school. Her going away to college is a step in the direction of getting over them & learning to love life again instead of being stagnant. So right off the bat I had empathy for Rowe & her struggle even though I was unsure as to why she struggled. I give credit to the author & her writing for this. Because that's not easy to start to feel when you don't know the backstory right away. Ginger took the route of slowly divulging information & I actually enjoyed that because it made it seem more real. Like you were their as things were revealed. Her personality & strength were also slowly revealed which I also could relate to. It wasn't like oh hey I'm in college now & now I'm over it so here's strong me!! As for Nate, wow what to say...... he was very likeable right off the bat. He helped keep this story light hearted, not that he couldn't be serious but that he knew how to take what he got & steer it in a positive way. And well even though he seemed to be very perceptive and he was very patient. He also was human and made mistakes but he owned them and did what he could to fix them. I can't wait to read Ty & Cass's story because they played a big role in this story. I'm also hoping to see more of Rowe & Nate in their story. Definitely a good story and so well written.

First time reading this author and was glad I took a chance. This book made me laugh and cry and I'm looking forward to reading more of her work.
