Introduction

Imagine waking up each day fueled by a whisper: “This is the day.” A day for what? you wonder. A day for change. A day that can be different, better than yesterday. A day that, even in the revolving door of responsibilities and to-dos, can be filled with more purpose and passion than you think possible.

Imagine when hearing the sound of the morning alarm, instead of groaning or slapping the snooze button, you awaken—mind, heart, and soul—to possibility. Something better. Something more.

You open your eyes, and before your feet hit the ground running, you pause. You choose not to be ruled by the tune of just getting by, not to allow what really matters to get swallowed up by the daily grind, and not to ignore what you really want out of life.

When I was a kid, my parents each had a unique way of waking up my siblings and me. The difference between Mom doing it and Dad doing it was pretty drastic. Mom would swing my bedroom door wide open and in her sweet voice sing the song based on Psalm 118:24: “This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” (If you went to church as a kid, you might remember singing this song). Dad did things a little differently. He would rush in and shout in a deep voice, “Here we go! Are you alive, alert, awake, and enthusiastic?”

Differences aside, my parents made clear that this was the day to get out of bed and make it count.

This is the day that God has made. This day. Right now. Whatever moment you are breathing in, God made this day. Even when times are tough, something about this day is good. There’s always a reason, however small, to find joy in this day. Sometimes we have to choose to look for it. Sometimes we have to ask God to help us find it.

God gives us today as a gift. He wants us to pursue it, not just for selfish ambition but to do something meaningful with it. To use it to grow, to love others well, to help someone, to pursue a dream He’s put on our hearts. This is the day to live without fear of the unknown, without being chained by failure or what-ifs. This is the day to be willing to change, to be open, to believe, to hope. If we don’t attack each day with this intentionality, it’s almost like telling God, “Thanks, but no thanks.”

How different would your day be if you lived out the words of Psalm 118:24? Think about it; really think about it.

Is there something you would change?

Is there someone you would reach out to?

Is there something you would need to give?

Is there something you would need to let go of?

I’m not saying putting this into practice is easy. Hard times are inevitable. Obstacles will come. Some battles are harder to fight than others. You may get knocked down, but you don’t have to stay there. Each day you wake up, you have a chance to get unstuck, to step out of a comfortable routine that may be limiting your potential, and to fight for something that’s important.

You were made not just to survive today but to thrive in it. I want to encourage you to stop putting off your dreams, your goals, and the purpose God has for you. It’s time to become the person He has created you to be.

I wrote this book to get you to start thinking about what you can do, beginning today, to make a change. It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture. Something as simple as recognizing divine moments, choosing to believe God over your doubts, taking action instead of complaining, and just opening your eyes and paying attention can impact your life and others’ lives in powerful ways.

It’s never too late. You’re not too young. You’re not too old. You can have purpose not only in your life but also in this day. There is always something you can do right now to improve yourself, to make an impact on someone or something else, or to create or enjoy a meaningful moment. Challenge yourself right now to begin to think about each day as an opportunity to crush it, to pursue the right things, to gain a better perspective, to step out of your comfort zone, and to go all in.

Whether you’re a college grad needing the push to create and attack your five-year plan, a thirtysomething stuck in a job you hate, a single mom or dad struggling to get by and lacking joy, a career man or woman who feels a bit stuck, or an empty nester wondering what on earth you’re going to do with your life, you can use the principles I offer in this book. It’s time to uncover your God-given potential and start really living.

This is the day you can switch off autopilot and begin living with passion.

This is the day you can see what God sees.

This is the day you can overcome a bad habit or a character flaw.

This is the day that can bring you a step closer to your dreams and goals.

This is the day you can fight for what’s right.

This is the day you can change someone’s life for the better.

This is the day you can change your own life.

Life isn’t just about one day. It’s about this day.

This Is the Day to Say “I Love You”

What a grand thing it is to be loved! What a far grander thing it is to love!

—Victor Hugo

Clear blue skies to my left, the same on my right. I’m comfortable, planted on my seat watching a good movie. Like me, other passengers nearby are in their own worlds. Some are taking a nap. Others are glued to their electronic devices, fingers tapping rhythmically across keyboards.

And though I’m engrossed in the dramatic fight scene unfolding on my screen, I sense something. An inexplicable heaviness weighs down my heart.

A flight attendant stops to my right. “Can I get you something to drink, sir?” she asks with a smile.

I pull my headphones off. “No thank you, ma’am.” Before I can park them back on my head, I hear commotion brewing in the background. I look back. Passengers are stirring in their seats, turning their heads to get a better view of something happening behind them. Loud gasps and concerned whispers explode. With a little over an hour of flight left before we’re scheduled to land in Phoenix, Arizona, something potentially serious is unfolding.

About twenty-plus rows back, cabin crew members scurry about. As curious passengers start to stand up and lean over their rows, a flight attendant barks, “We need everyone to please stay seated. The aisles must be clear. I repeat, please remain seated.”

There’s too much commotion to figure out exactly what’s going on. In the thick of the anxious buzz, I hear someone call out, “Does anyone have an EpiPen?” as a flight attendant charges down the aisle toward the front of the plane.

A part of me feels drawn to the scene. Maybe I can help. Maybe I can do something. But I ignore the pull and put my headphones back on. Someone probably had an allergic reaction or got sick or something. I don’t want to be nosy. I’ll let the flight attendants do their job.

God nudges my heart. I can’t escape the silent words that scream inside me. You need to do something!

Immediately, my mind spins with excuses for the next three seconds. I’m really into this movie. And what can I do anyway? If I walk back there, I’ll probably be more of a distraction than a help. I think of more reasons to stay put. And do nothing.

Then a flight attendant appears in our cabin. “Is anyone here a doctor?” She looks calm, but the tone in her voice betrays alarm. When the passengers around me shake their heads, she hurries toward the back of the plane. I look at the people around me. Panic lines their faces. Concerned voices whisper back and forth.

“What’s happening?”

“Why does she need a doctor?”

“Is someone hurt?”

My heart feels like lead. I’m totally unsettled now. I look back again and see a woman crying uncontrollably. There’s movement in the aisle. But between flight attendants and a passenger or two doing something I can’t quite make out, I still don’t have a clue what’s going on. The feeling of urgency is overwhelming. I can’t just sit here and watch.

I stand up and walk toward the nearest flight attendant. “Excuse me, ma’am. I don’t know what’s going on back there. Is there anything I can do to help? Or maybe the woman back there, the one who’s crying, maybe she would like me to pray with her?” Nodding, she forces a polite smile. I watch her leave. But she doesn’t say a word to the woman who is obviously very upset.

I get the attention of another flight attendant and ask her the same thing. “Excuse me. I don’t mean to bother you. But would you mind asking the woman back there if she’d like me to pray with her or encourage her or something?”

“Of course I will,” she says.

A minute later, that flight attendant waves me over. As I make my way near the scene, I can see the soles of a man’s shoes pointing toward the ceiling of the plane. He’s lying prostrate in the aisle, not moving. A handful of people awkwardly positioned in the narrow space tower above the man. One of them is grasping his hand. “Sir, can you hear me? Squeeze my hand if you can hear me.”

I notice a boy not far from the scene. Nine, maybe ten years old. I remember him passing me on the plane earlier. He was so excited to see me and wanted to say hello. The kid, now with eyes wide and tinged with fear, stares at the man on the floor. His dad is trying to cover his son’s eyes.

My stomach churns. Man. This kid does not need to see this.

The obviously ill man’s eyes are half open. Then they’re closed and he looks to be unconscious. He’s been stripped of some of his clothing, and blood drips down the side of his mouth. A female passenger kneels over him, pumping his chest with her bare hands. Looking for signs of life.

Just before I reach the inconsolable woman, she and a woman seated next to her lunge toward me, arms outstretched. Overcome with grief, the first woman doesn’t say a word. She just slumps against my chest and cries. Teary eyed, the woman beside her whispers to me, “I’ve run out of words. You pray.”

I wrap my arms around both women, who bury their faces in my shoulders. And as flight attendants hustle up and down the aisle and a passenger continues to perform CPR on the man on the floor, I pray. I pray for God’s hand of mercy to cover him. I pray for a wall of protection over him. I pray for a miracle.

After I pray, the women tell me their names. Debbie is the wife of Boots, the sick man she thinks has gone into cardiac arrest. They’ve been married more than nineteen years. Karen, the woman with Debbie, is a coworker. Both hail from South Carolina. The three of us talk a bit before tears fall again.

“Boots was fine up until the last hour,” Debbie says while trying to stifle a sob. “I could just tell something was wrong. I asked him if he wanted water or something, but he said no. Then he just stopped breathing.” She shakes her head, unable to speak. Her shoulders tremble as she weeps. Karen and I pray while Debbie cries. It’s a cycle we repeat many times over the final hour of flight. Talk. Pray. Cry. Talk. Pray. Cry.

At some point, someone suddenly yells, “Stand clear!” The paddles of a defibrillator slap down on Boot’s bare chest. He bucks violently and thuds back on the ground, motionless.

“Nothing,” the person holding the paddles mutters. “Again.”

The defibrillator discharges and the body heaves. “I think I got a pulse!”

Hope speaks.

With so much crying and praying and chaos, I barely feel the wheels touch down on the tarmac. The hour I was with Debbie flew by in what felt like minutes. As we descend toward the runway, I hold Debbie and Karen tight.

Approaching sirens wail as we taxi. As the passengers disembark the plane in haste, flight attendants quickly scramble to evacuate Boots out the rear of the plane. Someone tells me I can’t stay with Debbie and must go. As I leave, she tries to squeeze her way into the aisle between flight attendants so she can accompany her husband in the ambulance that’s just arrived. “No,” Debbie is told. “I’m sorry, but you can’t go out this way. You must exit the plane out the front. It’s standard procedure.”

We all deplane and soon after I meet up with Debbie and Karen. I offer to take them to the car that’s waiting for me and to find their checked luggage. Debbie clutches her handbag with trembling hands and can barely stand. She tries to explain what her suitcase looks like. I slide an arm around Debbie’s waist to support her, while still holding on to her husband’s blood-stained clothing, everyone’s carry-on bags by my feet. Lost in a world that has just fallen apart, Debbie clings to the words I think I got a pulse.

The next hour or two are a blur. A police officer, who looks like he’s seen plenty of hard years on the job, tells me which hospital they’re taking Boots to. He offers to escort us there. With all our luggage finally in hand, Debbie, Karen, and I drive off. We race down the highway, the ride filled with tears and hopeful prayers. After navigating our way to the emergency room and parking right behind the police officer’s car with flashing lights, we are directed into a room to wait. More tears. More prayers. Finally, a doctor enters and says to Debbie, “I’m sorry for your loss.”

Debbie turns white. She hadn’t realized her husband had actually died. Hearing the painful truth unsteadies her balance. Her knees buckle and she crashes into my arms. The cop shakes his head and rests his hand on her shoulder. He whispers, “I am so sorry your husband passed.” I’ll never forget his kindness. He stayed with us for hours afterward, even while I accompanied Debbie to identify her husband’s body in another cold hospital room.

It’s tough to witness someone’s world collapse before her eyes. And, telling. These moments, shocking, heart breaking, and gut wrenching, remind me that life is fragile. And it can be cut tragically short. We don’t know how much time we have on earth. We don’t know how many days we have to spend with loved ones, to say what we want to say, to show our appreciation, to make sure they know we love them.

In This Is The Day, Tim Tebow makes it clear that "life is not about putting off until tomorrow what we can do today." As I read this book it became more clear that this is me! I think about doing something, reach out to a friend or family member in need, send that card, text that person that's been on my mind, or even pray for someone I might have committed to praying for, but put it off until a "better time."  Tim's style of writing is so easy to understand. His faith is truly inspiring. His encouragement is exactly what people need in today's world. Tim shows us how to live each day to the fullest, no matter what, despite the set backs and distractions in life, we can get through it by seeking God's purpose for each day.  This Is The Day is a book that should be read by all, no matter where you are in your faith or what you are doing in your life. Tim will inspire you to live each day in ways that make a difference in your own life and in the life of others. This book will encourage you to trust God in all things, to step out of our comfort zones, put down the electronic devices and pay attention to those around us. Make each day count! "Wake up each morning fueled by a whisper, This is the day!"  I received an uncorrected proof copy of this book from the publisher for being a member of the launch team. This is my true and honest review. This is the day to go buy this book!

I can't say enough good things about this book. I had not read anything by Tim Tebow prior to this. I will now be buying the others to read. I was motivated and inspired from the Introduction until the very last page. This book is good for teens or adults. You certainly don't need to be a sports fan to enjoy this encouraging book. I will be giving this book as gifts to many people in my life that might need a little boost or even a great big shove to get moving with life. This is the Day - this one - not tomorrow and not yesterday. THIS IS THE DAY!!! **Disclaimer** I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher, Waterbrook Multnomah. The opinions are definitely my own. I have bought several copies to give as gifts to friends and family.

Tim Tebow talks about how he dreams and what He does to use His days for the Lord. He uses every opportunity possible to reach out to those who are hurting in front of him. He show the reader how to reach out to those in front of him who walk with a walker or can not walk from an amputation or other injury. He shares how He can always find hurting people in the airports. He also has a Foundation that reaches out to orphans, sick people . He shares about how He really likes to reach out to people with special needs. He talked about the Special night the Foundation has all over the US for the special needs young adults to be pampered and treated for a night to be special .It is like a prom for the special need population. He also talked about a child who was burned in the Philippines and did not have money to get treatment. His hospital in the Philippines helped her get the medical care she needed. Tim reminds us to go to the well when we need recharging and He will meet our needs . He is open about his compassion and care for those hurting around him. He shared that Jesus has a free gift of salvation for us. I found this book so amazing and would be excellent for almost anyone to read. It teaches how to live out Christianity in our tough world. I know teens and adults could benefit from the book. I know Tim is so well known and looked up to and his message can have an impact in this book. I think youth groups could encourage the students to read the book. He has the Heisman trophy and is well known for his football and baseball playing. He has a really platform to share how we can daily live out our Christian life wherever we go. Thank you Waterbrook for allowing me to read and review this book and thank you Tim for your message.

Excellent read. Don't wait for a special day to show other people the love of God. Don't wait for a specific reason to encourage others. This is the day. Author Tim Tebow shares personal examples of how he listens to the nudges God provides and how he follows through on those nudges. Also, he shares his feelings when he ignores those special messages. Encouraging and inspiring book. I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. This is my personal opinion. No review was required. @WaterBrookMulnomah#Partner

This is the Day by author and sports figure Tim Tebow is a wonderful book. It is filled with encouragement and inspirational words to uplift and motivate readers. In his book, Tim challenges readers to search for joy, whether little or big, every day. The Bible says. In Psalm 118:24 ”This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” The author is just explaining how to do exactly that. He challenge readers to put life to that scripture daily. I have never read one of author Tebow’s books and was pleasantly surprised by his writing style. This is the Day is well researched, planned, organized, and written. Tebow’s style is easy to follow and flows effortlessly. Like coffee with a friend, I would drink up the stories in this book with enjoyment. I enjoyed reading this book and learned many insuring things. Using his own personal experience the author has written this book from a Christian perspective. He uses the stories of others’, too. It is a positive book for anyone and will help them turn their negativity around. It appears the main goal of this book is to encourage both Christians and non-Christians to change the way they may be thinking about themselves and/or their circumstances. In this God glorifying book, each of the twelve chapters reveals how God worked in Tebow’s life. Even though we might not be aware, God is always there and always in control. He encourages readers to dream dreams, make goals, be intentional about doing things that matter, to have a positive influence in the world around them, and most of all to make today be the day to live a life of purpose, meaning, and significance. Wow. How is that for encouragement? Beginning each chapter is a relative quote from a famous person of note. Then the chapters themselves tackles relevant subjects among which are Listening to the Right Voice, Live with Open Hands, Put in the Work, Open Your Eyes, and Get in the Game. Each chapter ends with a section called “Make this your day”. Questions are proposed and suggestions given on how to apply the chapter's principle in today’s life. A self reflection question ends this section. Definitely leaves readers something to ponder. Acknowledgments, information on the author and Tim Tebow Foundation close the 209 page book. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. Middle schoolers to grandparents would enjoy reading it and be inspired. They would be able to help encourage others, too. It would make a great small group or reading club book. Perfect for birthday or Christmas gifts. It definitely earned a 5 out of 5 stars from me. I received a complimentary copy of the uncorrected proof of this book and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.

I received a early review copy from the publisher. It was such an encouraging book. I enjoyed reading all the stories from his life, it was cool to see another side of him in his own words. This is the Day is full of very encouraging stories and experiences really impacted my current circumstances. The stories help remind me to appreciate the simple acts of kindness opportunities that occur everyday. It also reminds me of how God can and does use us each and every day when we are open to follow his lead.

Get in the game…Today! If you've followed Tim Tebow's life and career you know what he stands for, unashamedly. So, if that is something that offends you or scares you then don't read this book. However, if that makes you curious to see what Tim has to share in his latest book then you will not be disappointed. You know it will be honest, from the heart, will convict you and inspire you to live a life of significance. If that doesn’t appeal to you then you should probably skip this one too. If you are still with me, read on. In "This Is the Day" you will be inspired to get up, get off the couch and get it the game to work for your goals and dreams. A couple of quotes from the book set the tone and might make you curious. "If you are looking for a feel-good self-help book, you should probably stop reading right now. Because here's the thing: Striving for something and living a life of significance doesn't always feel good." Remember, I said it would be honest. This is an example of that honesty. This quote may surprise you and pique your interest to read to get the context in which it was written. “There might be a ton of Christians out there who feel that God tells them exactly what to do. I'm not one of them." Hmm… Tim takes you on his journey through life sharing his experiences in life with his family, his career and his passion, service to others. You will read stories you might have seen a headline or tweet about, but inside this book, you get the rest of the story, firsthand from someone who lived it. One more quote from the book, "In everything we do, we have a chance to influence. In fact, one of the greatest things we can do in life is influence other people for the better." In this book, Tim Tebow will influence you for the better and challenge you to use what you learn and influence others. I don’t always give 5-star reviews but when I know a book has the potential to change lives it is deserving of that rating. “This Is the Day” IS one of those books. Get yours today! Full Disclosure: I was provided a pre-release copy of the book as part of the launch team in return for my honest review. That is what you see above.

I have always been a fan of Tim Tebow. I remember watching him play as the quarterback for the Denver Broncos and loving his style, but what I have always admired is watching him live his faith. Seeing him take a knee in prayer (also known as "Tebowing") is such a beautiful example of seeing his faith lived out. Tim's latest book This Is the Day is a call to action! To again find our dreams, our passion, and our purpose. You can feel from the very first page that this book is different. I instantly grabbed a pen and highlighter because I knew I would find little gems throughout that would speak to me and I was not disappointed. You can feel just how much Tim poured his heart into this book. Granted, the ideas given of reclaiming your dreams and re-igniting your passion are nothing new, but they are presented with personal stories of Tim's own journey to living his own purpose, which makes them real, and speaks to you on a very personal and authentic level. I remember everyone being shocked that Tim wanted to go from playing professional football to minor league baseball and he tells about this choice in the book. I mean, who does that? Who chooses to make less money and go into a sport that you haven't done since high school? Tim Tebow does. After coming to God in prayer, he realized that his passion was no longer in football but in baseball. It wasn't about the money. "It mattered more what was in my heart than what others wanted me to do." And so he did. He chose passion. Tim reminds us that our identity is not what we do but who we are in Jesus and it is something we need to always be reminded of. This is just one small example that Tim gives us. This Is the Day is full of stories from his personal life and from his refreshing perspective. This book is a quick read but it packs a powerful punch. You feel more like you're conversing with a friend than reading a book which is something I always enjoy. This Is the Day is a call to action! It is motivational, uplifting, and a wonderful resource! Highly recommend!! *I received an advanced, complimentary copy of this book from WaterBrook Publishing in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. All opinions are my own.

This Is the Day: Reclaim Your Dream. Ignite…I received this book from WaterBrook and Multnomah, as part of their launch team, in exchange for my honest review. Tim Tebow is such an inspirational writer. In this book he shares how he is able to apply his faith to his life and then he gives challenges to show ways that we can do this too. He shares how he feels the same we do at times. He can feel categorized, or put-down, just like us, but by staying true to God and the faith He has given us we can overcome and tackle these feelings and show how a Christian can excel with God. "This is the day" to begin. I like the way he writes so it is easy to read yet challenging enough to make me think. The biblical references are now highlighted in my Bible and I have a feeling I will be referring to this book quite a bit in the future. I highly recommend this book.

This is the Day! God has been preparing Tim Tebow’s heart for this message since his birth. As a young child, his Mom would wake up the clan singing the song based on Psalm 188:24: “This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” His Dad was more boisterous and would rush in shouting, “Here we go! Are you alive, alert, awake and enthusiastic?” Tebow’s parents also made sure he understood the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus and the need to share the Love of God with everyone he encounters. This is the Day is a great encouragement for all readers no matter who you are, where you are or what you’re going through. Tebow encourages readers to trust God through all things and reminds us of the myriad of ways God has provided solutions when there seemed to be NO way. He also continually challenges readers to step out of our comfort zones, put down our electronic devices and pay attention to those around us. Take time to notice the lonely, hurting, those that are needing a quiet prayer said over and with them. I have Tebow’s first book, but this one is a billion times better! In This is the Day, Tebow comes across as very realistic, approachable and inspirational. I was provided an ARC of this book by the Publisher. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence. I’ve preordered a copy of this book for my own personal library as well as purchased a copy for a gift.

"This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it" (Psalm 118:24). This is one of the first Bible verses that I learned as a child; a simple command for a child but how many of us practice this as adults? Tim Tebow has written a book to remind us to make each day "this day". "This Is The Day" challenges all of us to step outside of our comfort zones to try to make a difference. He shares personal stories and his own experiences to motivate us and he also includes Bible scripture to encourage our efforts. I first became aware of Tim Tebow as the football player who chose to kneel and pray before and after his football games but my admiration for him as a person has greatly increased after reading this book. It is apparent that he loves sports but that his love for God is greater; he desires to be the best that he can be as an athlete but his passion is even greater to be a better Christian and serve God every chance he has. He realizes that God gave him exceptional athletic talent and that he can use his celebrity status to help change someone's life for the better. In his introduction Tim Tebow tells us to "Imagine waking up each day fueled by a whisper 'This is the day'" and his final words remind us that "We often promise ourselves that one day we're going to do this or that. But we're not guaranteed one day. Who knows if it will even come? Besides, life isn't just about one day. It's about this day." I believe that this will be an excellent book to share with young people and that its appeal will extend to both sports fans and Christian readers. I enjoyed This Is The Day and I am glad that I was given the opportunity to read an Advanced Reader Copy. I received a copy of this book from Waterbrook Publishers and voluntarily wrote this review. These are my honest opinions. @waterbrookmultnomah #PRHpartner

I really enjoyed reading this book and all the stories Tim told to show the meaning behind "This Is The Day"! Tim challenges us to give a listening ear to what God may have in store for us in our daily lives and to respond to those promptings. I loved all the stories from the airplanes to the baseball field that were good examples of what he is trying to convey in his book. Tim wants the reader to look and see how they may be able to make a difference in someone's life and to do it! We don't have tomorrow promised to us and if we can be helpful to someone, that will make our life better as well. I definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to hear some great stories and anyone wanting to enrich their own life by being a part of another person's life. I received a copy of this book from the publisher Waterbrook Multnomah as part of the book launch team for This Is The Day, in return for an honest review. I recommend this heartily.

This is the Day is a reminder that each day counts and that we need to step out and be the hands and feet of Jesus in our life. Tim Tebow is a hero of mine so I was so excited to read his latest book. He shares in a conversational way about his beliefs and his life. How he has overcome injuries and other set-backs to use the talents God has given him and he encourages us to do the same. I really like how he emphasizes how important it is to love those around us. Our families, our friends and others - especially those in need. I also like that he emphasizes how important it is to put God first. To know God and share the love that He has given us - plus to use our gifts in our life. I really thought this was amazing because I have seen some of the hate that Tim Tebow has endured for his love of Christ, yet he continues on in his faith and strengthens it despite the haters. This book encouraged me so much to go forward and use my gifts of art and writing for God. Life truly is fleeting and it's not to be wasted with self-absorbed activities but with things that glorify the Lord. That's really the lesson of this book and it has inspired me so much. I love this book and intend to re-read it, especially on those days when I'm feeling "less-than". I give this book 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend it to everyone! *This book was provided to me by Multnomah/Waterbrook Press. I received a copy of this book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this book.

The wisdom, insights, and inspiration in Tim Tebow’s This is the Day are timeless, but I think it is particularly appropriate that it popped up in my reading queue at the first of the new year when peoples’ thoughts turn to renovating their lives. I knew little about Tim Tebow, but I now know that although he is an athletic star, his goal is to help others and humbly point attention on Jesus. This book will inspire you to be your best and find your path through the strength of Jesus. Tebow tries to walk out his life according to Biblical principles. He is all about following God, loving others, and doing his best. He is also realistic about life’s challenges. Sometimes nonfiction can be a slower read than fiction, but that is not the case with This is the Day. Tebow intertwines his own background and anecdotes from his life with Biblical truths. He never claims to be perfect, make all the right choices, or have an easy life. He also doesn’t claim to have all the right answers for everyone else’s life. He does, however, know how to come alongside people from all backgrounds and situations and pray with them. He knows how to point people to his best friend, Jesus. This is the Day does not really fit any category other than nonfiction. Sports aficionados will love it. People, like me, who give a “deer in the headlights stare” when someone mentions the name of a sports team will love it. This book is for men, women, and teens. It is for Christians and those seeking God. It is for people at the top of their life game and for those suffering, struggling and wondering why life is the way it is. I recommend this book for everyone. I think you’ll be amazed and surprised at the wisdom and truths found in the inspirational This is the Day. It can be a life changer for you. I would like to extend my thanks to NetGalley and to WaterBrook (Penguin Random House) for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

In "This Is The Day," Tim Tebow encourages readers to view each day as a gift from God to be used for his glory. He reminds us to step outside of our comfort zone and live in the moment, because we are not guaranteed tomorrow. Tebow shares personal stories and experiences that add to his message of living with purpose. Each chapter is based around something we can do to make this "the day" and includes Bible verses and stories to back up his ideas. Topics include saying "I love you," leaving the past behind and living with open hands. While it doesn't dig too deep, the concepts are relatable and I found his words to be very motivating and inspiring. It was an easy read. It would be a great book for a person exploring Christianity or someone new to their faith. You definitely don't need to be a sports fan to appreciate his message, although it helps because a lot of his examples come from his sports career. I would recommend this book to anyone who could use a little motivation in their life. I received an advance reader copy from the publisher.

I'm not really a big sports fan, but I have followed Tim off and on in his efforts with the Tim Tebow Foundation since its inception in 2010. I have been very impressed with this young man's integrity, honesty, and boldness while working in an industry that tends to make it hard to hold fast to those values and to stand firm in his beliefs. After reading Tim's book, This Is The Day, I am convinced that he is the real deal. You get a real sense that the message of this book is one that Tim lives out daily...to wake up each day expecting to have an encounter that is God-ordained...a moment or an opportunity to be an instrument of blessing in someone's life. Through personal stories of encounters with God and others, Tim helps us see how we too can wake up each day to powerful purpose and joy. To live out his own proclamation... "When we give of ourselves, we are built up. On the other hand, when we constantly take from others, we become empty." I believe Tim looks at each day as an opportunity to win the day. And in God's economy...that means giving our all for the One who gave His all. *I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book from the publisher.

I enjoyed This is Your Day: Reclaim Your Dream. Ignite Your Passion. Live Your Purpose. Tim Tebow is a great role model and inspiration for so many. And rightly so. His faith shines through in this book. I loved reading his various accounts with others he has encountered over the years and how he uses his message to inspire others. This is Your Day is one book that should not be missed. I loved it and give it five stars. I look forward to other books by Tim Tebow. I received this book from the publisher, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

"Imagine waking up each day fueled by a whisper: 'This is the day.' A day for what? you wonder. A day for change. A day that can be different, better than yesterday. A day that, even in the revolving door of responsibilities and to-dos, can be filled with more purpose and passion than you think possible." - page 3 - Last week, Tim Tebow's newest book This is the Day released and I had the privilege of getting to read it early as a part of the launch team with Waterbrook & Multnomah. I had never read any of his books before and wasn't real sure of what to expect. And I was pleasantly surprised. I know he writes with A.J. Gregory, but I felt the tone of his book was very real and personable. Sometimes when a celebrity writes with someone else the style is stiff and unapproachable or too light and fluffy. But this was really well done and it made me wonder if he is as true and sincere in person as he seems on the page. Tim shares his story of switching from football to baseball and how people thought he was crazy, but he wanted to do something he had loved since a young age. He also shares how he wants to live in such a way that each and every day is filled with purpose, possibility and saying "yes" to whatever comes his way. One of the things that struck me the most was how he intentionally pays attention to the people around him and listens for the prompting of the Spirit to do some act of service or start a conversation with someone. Then when he shared about the instances when he ignored those promptings, I was encouraged and reminded that even someone who seems to have it all together can mess up and let the Spirit down sometimes. I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would and look forward to reading some of his others.

I throughly enjoyed this book. Knowing a little about what the author, Tim Tebow, does for so many people, I was not surprised what he would deliver up in this book. His encouragement and challenge for us—for me—to be a better person in every aspect of life and to love God and people was very inspiring. I found myself underlining a lot of the book because I will be re-reading this book to encourage me along the way. His suggestions for action are great. Don't just dream. Go get that dream. Do good things for other people every single day. I highly recommend this book! Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the publisher through their book launch program with no expectation in return. I gave my honest opinion of the book. WaterBrook & Multnomah

I don’t read as much non- fiction as I do fiction but this was one that I am glad I read. This book really encourages one to be a better person. I wasn’t sure if I agree with everything that he says to do but I agree with probably 95%. I think this will help many people with their problems. I received a copy of this book from Waterbrook and Multnomah for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

A son of missionary parents, born in the Philippines, now a celebrity sports icon, and still seeking God in every facet of his life. This is a mixture of a personal memoir and inspirational book. His writing is down to Earth, with small morsels of wisdom sprinkled throughout and summarized at the end of each chapter. Easy enjoy to understand and mull over. To consider how to apply it to my own life. This Is The Day is an inspirational book written to encourage readers to make the choice today to start reaching for their goals, to get healthy or to seek a closer relationship with God. Honestly, it could be applied to so many different areas. Are you struggling to get healthier? Tim has encouraging, yet realistic thoughts on that. Do you feel your life is stale? Pray for God to open your eyes to the needs of those around you. While Tim encourages the reader to dream big, take risks and allow God to work in their life, I couldn’t help but think that’s exactly what he’s doing. He opens his heart, sharing personal stories that are dear to him. At the same time, he consistently gives God the credit for events in his life, from big to small. While some might feel that his stories are bragging about helping this person or that person, I didn’t get that impression. I have a feeling Tim has a lot of stories to share and probably struggled with which ones to include so as not to overwhelm the reader too much. When I received this book, I knew of the name “Tim Tebow”, but not much else other than whatever was posted on social media or the news. Wasn’t he the guy that took a knee to pray and thank God after a game in front of everyone? I’m not a big sports fan follower and yes, often times I do live under a rock when it comes to current events. Yet, I still found myself interested in even the sports aspects of his stories. A small portion of what I took away from this book: -People matter more than to do lists or tasks. -Don’t let the past define you. -Live based on only what God says. -Don’t give up after failure. -Open your eyes to the needs of those around you. -Flip the negative “what ifs” into positive ones. -Connect, reconnect and stay connected to God. Don’t put off tomorrow the things you want to do in your life: This Is the Day. This book would not only interest those sports fans, but most people in general. Reading about his personal stories going from football to baseball and the challenges he faces were interesting. I’m hoping to share my book with someone else. But I’m struggling to decide who, in my group of family and friends, to give this book to first because I think they’d all enjoy reading it. I received a complimentary copy from publisher Waterbrook & Multnomah in exchange for my honest opinion.
