Fame, fortune, and stadiums full of screaming fans are right around the corner for the rock band at the heart of Stina Lindenblatt’s steamy, intense Pushing Limits series. But it’s an epic love affair that steals the show in this opening act.

When Nolan Kincaid skipped town to chase the music career of his dreams, he knew he wouldn’t miss the reminders of his broken family—he wasn’t so sure he could forget the girl he left behind. Now his band is touring nonstop, the recording sessions go all night, and the groupies are crazed. But when he hears that Hailey Wilkins is in trouble, he drops everything.

Hailey thought she’d missed her chance with Nolan. Five years ago, the moment she realized she loved him was the moment he decided to leave. Now, when a brutal assault lands her in the ICU, Nolan flies straight to her bedside, acting like nothing’s changed. What’s a rock star like him doing, canceling shows and risking his record deal, just to nurse an old friend back to health? And why should Hailey believe he’ll stay this time?

With her attacker still at large, Nolan’s ready to rise to the occasion. He knows he let Hailey down once before, but he’s ready to give her everything, heart and soul—and he’ll fight for the chance to prove it.

3 out of 5 stars! Five years ago, Nolan (Tyler) ran away from his hometown for L.A. to escape his past and try to make it as a rock star. Since moving he has been on the fast track for success with his band Pushing Limits, but the one person he could never escape from was Hailey who was his childhood best friend. Therefore, when he learns that Hailey was attacked and in the hospital he drops everything to be there for her. Yet being back home opens up more old feelings then he had planned .... being there again will definitely change his life though if it'll change for the better is still up for debate. This romance was written more as a suspenseful thriller than anything else and while it was well-written, it’s because of the thriller-edge that this plot takes that it didn't keep my interest as much as I'd have liked. Nevertheless, I liked all of the characters. I liked the idea of Nolan and Hailey together. And I enjoyed the build-up for this series, which makes me curious as to how the other novels will turn out. I really wish I could've enjoyed this novel more. As it was, both Hailey and Nolan's lives had been defined by a deadly moment from their pasts. It was horrible and very sad. And while they could've used it to help one another out, Nolan pushed Hailey away and is lucky she didn't say something along the lines of it being 'five years to late' once he returned. You can tell that they have always cared for one another. But their journey was not one that swept me away, even while I was rooting for their relationship. With all that said, I DO recommend this novel to those looking for a suspenseful contemporary new adult romance. Review By: From Me to You ... I really wanted to like this more. This One Moment is the first book in the Pushing Limits series and it’s the first book I’ve ever read by Stina Lindenblatt. NetGalley was offering a copy of book 2 in this series, My Song for You and it sounded really good. Since I like to read series in order (even if they are standalone stories like these are) I decided to check out This One Moment. When I saw that it was on sale I bought it and read it. Second chance love stories are one of my favorite romance tropes but this one just didn’t work real well for me; it was just OK. I get that Nolan needed to get away from town because of what happened (no spoilers here) but I just don’t buy it that he wouldn’t get in touch with Hailey at all. She was supposed to be the love of his life. The story is told in alternating points of view with Nolan and Hailey being the narrators. I read a lot of New Adult stories and, much to my surprise, I really enjoy most of them. The proliferation of the “F” word doesn’t bother me; neither does the use of a lot of swearing. I’ve also enjoyed reading other “rock star” books so it’s hard for me to put my finger on why I didn’t like this one more. I have to think that it must be the author’s style. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with her writing; just that I think it’s not really for me. I’m writing this review concurrent with writing one for My Song for You so I’m not basing my feelings on just this one book. I think my feelings about this series really points out that not all readers are going to like all authors, even if the writing is good.

MINOR SPOILERS!!!!!!!! I enjoyed the majority of the book, and I only knocked a star off because I'm not a huge fan of the whole rock star scenario, and I normally pass on those books, but after reading the synopsis, I decided to give this one a shot. I was hoping the rock star thing wouldn't be a big part of the story because I can't stand the whole groupie thing, and although there is some of that in this book, it wasn't too bad. I didn't like the whole publicity stunt the record company was pulling, and I also didn't like that Nolan and Hailey weren't very particular about all the people they slept with when they were apart; I'm not into characters that sleep around, it's just not something I want to read about. So, despite those couple of things, I really liked the rest of the book. Nolan is a rock star, who had a family tragedy a few years back, so he left his hometown and left his best friend, Hailey; who he is in love with, behind without telling her how he feels, and he completely ignores any attempt by her to get in touch with him because he can't handle what happened with his family; he even has trouble remembering the event. Nolan receives a call that Hailey has been attack, so he returns to his hometown to be there for her. Hailey has amnesia from the attack and the police are stilling trying to find out who attacked her, so Nolan stays in town to help Hailey out. I liked the mystery of figuring out who attacked Hailey, and I do think the romance was sweet; although, I wanted Hailey to give Nolan a bit more of a hard time about leaving like he did. I like how protective Nolan was, and how he was there when Hailey needed him, but I wasn't totally happy that Nolan let the record company make some decisions for him, but I suppose that's the business; lame. I also enjoyed the storyline of Nolan having to deal with what happened with his family. I think I will check out other book by Stina Lindenblatt because although I didn't love somethings about this book, I enjoyed the writing, and I was entertained the through the whole book.

1 - Sometimes it was better to just accept defeat and move on… Star. DNF @ 36% I have picked up and put this book down a couple of times in the last three months, and I have decided to call time. I don’t have a huge amount to say because at 36%, apart from some lengthy internal monologues about very little, and many overly elaborate descriptions of things that have no relevance to the actual story, nothing of real note has actually happened. Add to that I am feeling zero connection between the H/h and don’t really get why Nolan/Tyler has just dropped everything to come back to town five years after leaving. Hailey’s coma seemed to be quick to clear as soon as he arrived at her bedside, but after such a long absence of her best friend and secret crush, who upped and left without a backwards glance all those years ago I was just expecting a little more on the feels front, its also really hard to age this couple, I’m assuming mid-twenties, but the language and interactions is more middle-aged-couple than anything. I didn’t struggle with the authors writing per-se, I just found it lacking in important developmental areas, and overly flowery where it wasn’t really warranted. Bits and pieces have been dropped into the story in relation to why Nolan left, but the whole attack on Hailey situation is still very much untouched and up-in-the-air, I think the erroneous monologues/descriptions could have done with paring down in favour of moving the story along at a slightly faster pace. ARC generously provided via Netgalley, and I am sorry I cannot offer a more positive review on this occasion.

This One Moment by Stina Lindenblatt is the first book in her new Pushing Limits series. It is a romantic suspense story featuring a hot guy from a band and the girl he left behind when his personal tragedy was more than he could handle. Nolan Kincaid and Hailey Wilkins were the best of friends and they were heading quickly into the more category. When tragedy strikes Nolan's family he leaves town without a word and stays gone for five years. No one from his new life knows who he is or what happened that terrible night, a mighty feat considering he is the lead singer and a guitar player for the his famous band, Pushing Limits. The one and only friend he stayed in touch with calls him one night to tell him that Hailey was attacked and she is in a coma. Even after five years he hasn't forgotten what loving Hailey felt like and despite his obligations he travels back to his dreaded home town to see her. As the story unfolds you are constantly left guessing. Who is the bad guy? Who beat Hailey up? What happened that made Nolan leave? The author manages to let the story unfold in a very organic way, never revealing too much OR holding back too much either. The characters are well-developed and I can't wait for more from her, in this series or any other.

*ARC received from Random House Publishing Group in return for an honest review* This One Moment is a very good romantic suspense story about a rock star and the girl he left behind five years ago. The mystery of who attacked Hailey and left her for dead brings Nolan back to her side. Being home again is also unlocking the memories buried deep inside about the tragedy that took his family away. Nolan is torn between the desire to protect Hailey and his life in L.A., while Hailey is afraid to let herself hope she might have a place in Nolan's new life. Who attacked Hailey and why? Will Nolan ever get his s**t together and tell Hailey how he feels? I couldn't put this book down.

Fantastic friends to lovers, reconnecting romance story. This story did not disappoint. I loved that this story was about two great characters, that you care about and that it was written from both their POV. This is the first story that I have read by this author and I am thrilled to find another great author that will keep my TBR list growing. I was drawn to this story initially because the main character was a rockstar but this story had so much more going for it. This had drama, mystery, suspense as well as some sexy moments. Nolan Kincaid is living his dream as the lead singer in a band, just finishing his first tour when he learns that his best friend had been attacked and is in a coma. But Hailey Wilkins is much more to him then just a best friend. He had also been in love with her, for two years, before he left his hometown. Five years ago Nolan (Tyler Erickson) left Northbridge Minnesota after a horrific tragedy. He left without saying goodbye or telling her he loved her. He hasn't seen or talked to her since, but he has never forgotten her. So when he gets this terrible news about her, he gets the first flight to her side. Tough times are ahead for him, having to face Haileys' anger and his past, but he is determined to face all of it, to make sure Hailey is safe from her unknown attacker. But Hailey Wilkins is not the same girl he left. The effects of losing Tyler in her life have hardened her and when she awakes from her coma not remembering what happened she is angry to see Tyler by her side. She isn't sure she can take losing him again when he goes back to L.A. But when Tyler is open and honest about his life and that he wants to be there for her until her attacker is caught, she decides that she will gladly take this time with Tyler and deal with the anguish later. Their time together soon turns intensely intimate and there are some steamy scenes that will leave you breathless. But will they make their true feelings known? Will his rockstar duties leave Hailey by herself again? You will need to read to find out. This story captivated me from the time I started reading and kept me till the last page. The flash backs of the tragedy that has kept Tyler away as well as the bits and pieces that return to Hailey at times set this story above and beyond your typical rockstar romance. I loved these two together, the love and the chemistry is sizzling and love that they finally get their HEA. Received a complimentary copy through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

A long lost love, who ran away to be a rocker after having a nightmare happen to him. That describes Nolan Kincaid perfectly. He ran from Hailey, the one and only love of his life, to escape the life he was living. I can’t blame him. I don’t like it, but I am a believer that true love is meant to be it will happen no matter what gets in the way. Hailey and Nolan are proof that this is true. There were a few things that left me going hmm… like how Hailey just accepts that Nolan is back without questioning him too much on why he left her without even answering a text message, how Hailey was able to go home, go out, and enjoy life without much recovery after being in a coma… okay, yea, I know this is just a book but these were things that made me go hmmm. I truly enjoyed this entire book from page 1 to the very last page. Nolan and Hailey were fun, loving, and interesting. I look forward to more of the Pushing Limits stories. I believe each band member has their own story to tell and I can’t wait to read them.

Although Nolan secretly loves his best friend Hailey, he left home to pursue his music career. Five years later, he receives a call telling him Hailey has been viciously attacked. He does the only thing he can. He comes home to be with her and because her attacker has not been caught, he decides to stay so he can protect her. Before anything happens between the two of them, they reconnect as friends first. But they both secretly want more but are reluctant to express their feeling for each other. That was frustrating. Just tell each other all ready!! Some of the scenes are done by flashback but it does not distract from the story. It gives you a better understanding of what the characters have been through. The characters are likeable, even Alyssa the Hollywood starlet. There is definitely chemistry between the H and h. Overall, it this was a solid story and I look forward to reading the next installments in the series.

I didn’t realize this was a New Adult book when I picked up this book and that’s not usually my kind of read - there’s nothing wrong with them per se but it isn’t my first choice. But I was intrigued enough to read it anyway and was pleasantly surprised. There were a few things I didn’t like – I found the two main characters to be a little … free with who (and how many) they had sex with. Again, nothing wrong with it necessarily as long as everyone is on the same page, but it isn’t my cup of tea. But once they meet up again I liked the connection between the two and how they struggled to figure out where they needed to go from there. It was a tough choice for them and I think that it was handled very well. I also thought that the mystery over Hailey’s attack was done right and made a lot of sense in context. I’ve got another Lindenblatt book on my TBR shelf and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing if she brings as good a read the second time around :) (Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review)

I'm not really sure how I feel, about this book. I really liked the characters Nolan and Hailey and secondary characters but the story line kind of lost me. Nolan's and Hailey's chemistry was great and their second chance romance was touching. I loved how their friendship just picked up where it left off even with the few bumpy times as they worked through the hurt. It was the story its self that kind of lost me, it was dragged out to far for me. The only reason I gave it a 4* rating was for Nolan and Hailey's romance and the last 1/4th of the book which really kicked in with the emotions. I'm looking forward to reading more if Ms. Lindenblatt writes about the band members and Alyssa.

Friends to lover, second chance lovers, thriller, PTSD, rock star, crazy fans, flash backs...there is a lot going on in this book and quite a bit of inconsistencies. Even with all the flash backs there was a lot missing. The thriller of who was after Hailey didn't make sense with no clues until the very end. There is a lot to really like about this book, though, and knowing the secondary characters are going to develop into their own books looks promising. **Received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

This was the first book I've read by Stina Lindenblatt, and I've read very few rock star romances, so I had no idea what to expect. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this story, overall. It has a little of everything: first love, second chance love, suspense, angst, darkness and light. All in all, it was a satisfying read - gently sexy, emotionally charged, with an air of tragedy but a spirit of hope. The two main characters were well-developed; their scenes together are passionate when they should be, and funny where it counts. I look forward to getting to know more about the secondary characters as the series continues. Nolan Kincaid, a.k.a. up-and-coming rock star Tyler Erickson, abruptly left his home town, Northbridge, MN, at age 19, after a heartbreaking family tragedy. He changed his name and moved to L.A., determined to reinvent himself, launch his career as a rock guitarist-vocalist, and escape anything and anyone that reminded him of his loss ... including his childhood best friend and confidante, Hailey. Leaving her behind, then completely cutting her out of his life, was his one and only regret. Five years later, he's on his way to achieving his rock star dream. His band, Pushing Limits, is finishing a year-long tour and preparing to record a new album. They have a lucrative recording contract, a faithful fan following, their own devoted groupies, and all the other trappings of celebrity success, including the sleazy paparazzi and the endless tabloid rumor mill. So far, Nolan has kept his former life a secret. Even his closest friend and band partner, Jared, has no idea of his true identity, or the tragic night that made him flee his home. No one knows the pain he suffers, day in and day out, because of his own guilt and fear. He can't remember the details of the fateful night that changed his destiny - and he doesn't want to. So he willingly, even eagerly, plays the part of the bad-boy rock star, adopting the Hollywood persona that's expected of him, including a rumored romance with a stunning, successful actress -- while shielding his true self from the world. Fortunately or unfortunately for Nolan (you'll see when you read the story), on the last night of the tour, his life turns upside down again. Another close childhood friend, Brandon, calls to tell him that Hailey is hospitalized, comatose, the victim of a savage attack. Her attacker is still at large. Despite his misgivings about returning home and facing Hailey again, Nolan can't stay away. He takes the next plane home - forcing himself back to the last place on earth he wants to be. Nolan has been in love with Hailey for a long time - long before he left Northbridge. He never had the chance - or the nerve - to tell her. Likewise, Hailey fell in love with Nolan and, at one point, dreamed of a life with him - but her dreams died after the tragedy, when he rejected her and embraced celebrity. Like Nolan, she's made a new life for herself - working days in a gym, pursuing a career as a physical therapist, filling her nights with one-night stands, deeply wounded by Nolan's rejection and determined not to let herself be hurt again. Their journey begins when she emerges from her coma to find Nolan at her bedside. She can't remember the details of her attack, or any of the events that led up to it. She's lost an entire week of her life, leaving her full of questions only she can answer. Was it truly random, or not? If not, why was she targeted? Without Hail

4.5 out of 5 stars This was awesome, I totally enjoyed it! A friends to lovers reconnecting story with some mystery and suspense thrown in. It made for an awesome combination and I couldn't put it down! It started off excellent, really pulling me in. I liked both Nolan and Hailey and loved learning their histories. It was filled with emotion, intensity, a lot of sexual tension and the perfect amount of heat. I thought there was great character development throughout and loved all the details. I loved their growing feelings, it was passionate and intense but found their lack of communication frustrating though they did do a good job of showing their feelings even if it wasn’t verbalized. Nolan and Hailey had so much chemistry and that built up to some super hot, steamy times. The writing was pretty fantastic! I LOVE how the chapters are set up with the different POV's and flashing back to what happened five years ago with them. I thought it was all balanced really well. It really had me hooked and I was on the edge of my seat for! There is a nice mystery element happening and it created some really good drama. Love how it played out and how all the dots were connected. I enjoyed the music aspect and the tension that was created from all of Nolan's responsibilities as well. There was this really nice progression throughout and I enjoyed it all. Terrific ending. Loved the conclusion. It was so sweet and wrapped up perfectly. Love Nolan and Hailey together! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book! This One Moment is a great beginning to what I hope will be a great series!! This is a "new to me" author, so I was excited to tackle this book! I love second chance romances and this one did not disappoint! Be forewarned this book may be too "dark" for some. Tyler Erickson aka Nolan Kincaid came home to find his alcoholic father had killed his mother and was killing his sister, but Nolan couldn't stop him. He left town to erase his memories and to start a music career. But, unfortunately, when he left town, he also left Hailey. Hailey loved him and of course, that's when he left town...she was heart broken. Now she's been assaulted and there's Nolan at the ICU for her. He's acting like nothing has changed in five years? Why would he cancel shows and leave his band just for her? I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the rest of this series!!

Whew!! This book really drew me in right from the start. We have the very sexy bad boy lead singer/guitarist for Pushing Limits who has a tragic past that he ran from and left the love of his life behind in Minnesota. Nolan and Hailey were best of friends for years and then like a lot of boy/girl friendships theirs starting taking on a life of its own. The feelings were there for both of them and neither of them wanted to admit to the other that their friendship was now going to another level. About the time that Nolan was finally ready to let Hailey know that he wanted more from her something terrible happened within his family to the point that Nolan couldn’t remember exactly what happened and he knew that it was something that he didn’t want to remember. His only thought was he had to leave town and not look back. He changed his name to Tyler because he didn’t want anyone to know about his past and headed to LA to begin his music career. Within that 5 years Nolan became hit it big with Pushing Limits and was known for his sexy persona and bad boy antics but he always kept that special picture of Hailey close by and wondered what could have been. Pushing Limits was just finishing up the last concert of a long tour when Nolan received a phone call from best friend, and the only person who Nolan stayed in contact with from back home, telling him that Hailey was attacked and in a coma. Nolan could not get back to Minnesota fast enough to be by her side. Hailey’s attacker was out there and Nolan was going to stay close to Hailey until he felt she was safe again. Since they had never pronounced their real feelings for each other all those years ago neither of them was still sure if the other person had the same feelings. Who really wants to put themselves out there and open old wounds if the other person’s feelings never left that friendship level? Who was it that attacked Hailey and was it in any way linked to what happened to Nolan’s family? Did Hailey and Nolan have any chance at exploring their real feelings for each other and would it be enough to pull Hailey to California to live the life with a rocker boyfriend? This book had me hooked with the way Nolan and Hailey’s relationship evolved and it made you sit on pins and needles wondering if there was a chance that these two could actually make their relationship work. Would that chemistry they shared be enough? It also had you feeling so sorry for Nolan with what he had to go through with his family and what he actually gave up in order to deal with it. Besides the romantic aspect of this book the author had added quite a bit of suspense as to who it was that attacked Hailey and how it all worked in to the story. This is a book that is well worth your time if you like rockers with a taste of added suspense. I’m looking forward to the second installment of Pushing Limits and can’t wait to see what Ms. Lindenblatt has up her sleeve next. GOOD START TO A NEW SERIES! This One Moment is an unrequited love story and second chance romance between two best friends, Nolan Kincaid and Hailey Wilkins. Nolan and Hailey’s love grew throughout the years; yet neither found the courage to express their true feelings. Nolan came from a troubled family and there were tragic events that motivated Nolan to leave his best friend, true love, and hometown of Northbridge, Minnesota for LA. To leave behind his tragic past, Nolan became Tyler Erickson the rock star for Pushing Limits. When Nolan is about to go onstage, he is notified of an another tragic event, leading him to explore the ghosts from his past. There are many twists and turns in this book, and it moves at a slower pace. The POV is dual, where you will get to explore the tragedies from their present and pasts, but also romantic moments between Nolan and the love of his life. Stina Lindenbatt does a beautiful job in building suspense. She creates a puzzle, utilizing the character’s love and trials to build a sweet love story. I really wanted to love this book, but at times it seemed wordy and it bogged the story down. But in the end I got to experience a moment by moment of Nolan and Hailey’s story with cameo appearances by the Pushing Limits crew. This is my first time reading this author and I look forward reading her future titles. ARC kindly provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

In this second chance romance, lead singer and composer Nolan left town years ago to pursue his dream and forget his past. He left the love of his life without a word, and I have to admit, I understood his motivations. But when Hailey is attacked one evening and ends up in a coma, he ends up going home to see the only girl he really loved. Set against a backdrop of Nolan's rock star life and Hailey's small town life, This One Moment was what I come to expect from a romantic suspense title. There wasn't a whole lot of rockin' going on in this, but that was okay. I liked the mystery that lingered because of their amnesia and I liked how everything was revealed in the end. Hailey and Nolan are terrific together, and their long lasting love for each other made this a lovely romance. There's a glimpse of the rest of the band, and an interesting publicity stunt that wrapped up more pleasantly than I'd anticipated. Overall, a good start to the series.

Nolan left everything behind when he left for LA years ago. There wasn't anything holding back and the one thing he wanted, deserved better. Hailey tried to move on when he left, but her best friend was gone and she hadn't heard a word from him since. When she wakes up in the hospital, he's there. And he's not leaving until everything is figured out. Nolan vowed to stay until the person who attacked Hailey is caught. Her roommate is moving out and offers up her old room to Nolan for a place to stay. This brings up old memories and old feelings he thought he buried. And when he leaves, she's the only thing he can think of. This was a great story! The mystery of who's behind the attack lingers throughout the whole book until all the pieces come together in that one AHA! moment. After that it's your typical "What if I go and it's a mistake?" type of story. This part is predictable, yet also sweet at the same time. *ARC received from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

*4.5 stars* I struggled rating this one because I really loved this story so much. There were however a couple of things I would have liked to have seen done differently but in the end - I LOVED this story. It seemed to have a bit of everything I enjoy. A second chance / friends to lovers story with a hot rock star - what's not to like with that? Throw in a bit of angst and a little suspense and I'm hooked. I thought the author did a great job telling Nolan and Hailey's story from both past and present perspectives. I sometimes have trouble keeping up when the story has flashbacks but this one flowed very well. The thing that bothered me just a bit was how easily Hailey forgave Nolan. If someone disappears from my life for 5 years there will be major groveling going on when they try to reenter it. In the end though he does fight hard to regain her trust so he wins with me. This is definitely one I recommend!

Stina Lindenblatt’s This One Moment is a sensational start to the Pushing Limits Series. After a tragedy, Nolan Kincaid, left his hometown in Northbridge, Minnesota to pursue a career in music in L.A. He also left behind his best friend and the girl he loved, Hailey Wilkins. The book starts out five years after Nolan left his hometown. Nolan now goes by the name of Tyler Erickson. He is the lead singer and guitarist of the band Pushing Limits. He discovers that Hailey is in a coma and drops everything to go back to Northbridge, potentially putting his career in jeopardy. My heart went out to Nolan. His past was tragic. It is understandable that he had amnesia about the events that took place and was hoping going home would not trigger his memory. He is a great guy who is extremely talented. I love that the bands number-one hit song, song, This One Moment, was written about Hailey. Tyler’s relationship with actress Alyssa Graham was interesting. I appreciated that she is a decent person and friend to Tyler. The fabricating of their relationship by the label is completely believable. Hailey is a likeable heroine. She had to deal with some difficult situations. She is strong and good for Nolan. I love Nolan’s Forget-Me-Not nickname for Hailey. It is appropriate, being her favorite flower and considering their relationship. I’m glad that Nolan and Hailey had great friends like Brandon and Kayla to help support them. I LOVED This One Moment. It was full of mystery, passion, tragedy, drama, romance, and excitement. This new adult contemporary rock star romance was well executed and convincing. I truly enjoyed the plot. This was a difficult book to put down. This is the first book I read by Stina Lindenblatt, and it will not be the last. I definitely want to continue reading the Pushing Limits Series.
