About the Author

Catherine Peace has been telling stories for as long as she could remember. She often blames two things for her forays into speculative fiction—Syfy (when it was SciFi) channel Sundays with her dad and The Island of Dr. Moreau by HG Wells. She graduated in 2008 from Northern Kentucky University with a degree in English and is still chasing the dream of being super rich and famous, mostly so she can sit around in her PJs all day and write stories. When not being a slave to the people in her head, she’s a slave to two adorable dogs.

This Time Next Year is very sweet emotional story by Catherine Peace about two lost souls tortured from a shared moment in time – the night Moira’s parents were murdered. This story has it’s tragic moments but overall it’s a gentle romance. The complexity of Moira's backstory was sad and intense. Even though I like my male characters to be strong alpha’s, I think it’s sweet that Keirnan is able to show his vulnerable side. The romance between the two main characters is fragile and yet smoldering with just the right amount of heat. This was an easy story to get lost in and I had it read in no time. Anyone looking for a quick book to read will enjoy This Time Next Year. I received this book from JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated. Stars – 3  Flames – 2.5

This Time Next Year was a really sweet story. Not at all how I anticipated describing a story about a young woman falling in love with a vampire after having her mother killed by one right in front of her when she was six, but its true nonetheless.  To me it was sweet because it is a well told and convincing story of how two souls traumatized by the same event, and who have suffered alone for the past twenty years, find healing and love with each other. They share a bond formed by the tragedy to make them each two halves of a whole. It's also very romantic in that Kiernan protected Moira after that night and did all that was necessary to insure her safety. When he lost track of her he searched twenty years to find her again knowing she might hate him just for being what he was, a vampire. Yet he needed to explain and tell her how sorry he was for his part in her mother's death. Hoping to give her some closure and peace from her nightly torments. Not daring to believe she'd offer or want more or could ever return his love. This sweet, beautiful, sensual, love story is a short, quick read but leaves you with a warm fuzzy impression.  *I received this book from the author through a giveaway contest.
