Thomas's Snowsuit is a hilarious book. It's all about a boy named Thomas who does not like his new snow suit. He thinks it's the most ugliest thing in the world. Thomas said to his mother, "If you think I'm going to wear this you must be crazy.' His mother does not agree. So they get in a big fight! Finally she gets Thomas in his snow suit and he goes to school. At recess all of the children run outside in their snowsuits except for Thomas. His teacher said, "Thomas please put on your snowsuit." Thomas said 'No!" The teacher jumped up and down and yelled, "Thomas put on the snowsuit right now!" Thomas said "No!' So the teacher picked up Thomas in one hand and picked up the snowsuit in the other and tried to stick them together. The next thing you know the teacher was wearing Thomas's snowsuit and Thomas was wearing the teacher's dress. It's hilarious when Thomas and his mother and the teacher and the principal get in a big fight because they all switch clothes and the illustrations are hilarious. Boy I'd love that if it happened at my school!

This book is simply good fun with something we are all familiar with. In this case it is trying to get a small boy to wear a yucky, confining snowsuit. The story gets funnier with each new person that the snowsuit ends up on. I love this book and recommend it not only to all children but also to their parents. Another great reading is a series of books titled Why Some Cats are Rascals.

In the book, Thomas’s Snowsuit by Robert Munsch the willful, young Thomas refuses to wear his new snowsuit, despite the pleas of his mother, his teacher and even his principal. When everyone's best efforts lead only to comedic chaos, they all agree it's best to let Thomas suit himself. This is marvelous mischief from Munsch and Martchenko. This is a fun book to teach about how we need to respect parents and teachers. I would love to use this book when I teach.
