Hope Granger was right- there was never anything good about a phone call that wakes you up in the middle of the night, but this one struck stark terror into the deepest realms of her heart, despite the fact it wasn't all that unexpected. A.J. Thornton wasn't doing well, and she was the cavalry.
She was the only person on this green Earth that might - just might - be able to snap him out of the deep blue funk his recent disability had caused. Although she immediately agreed to fly down to Texas to help him, Hope wasn't at all sure she'd be able to - especially not without laying her own heart - and bottom - on the line again.
AJ Thornton was going to die - especially if his larger than life, over-protective brothers continued to coddle him like a baby instead of expecting him to do as much for himself as he could.
But that wasn't what Beau Thornton wanted to hear from that little slip of a woman, Heather Dennison, even if she did think she was God's gift to physical therapy. And darned if she didn't get under his skin like no other woman ever had. She was strong - going toe to toe with him on more than one occasion about his older brother's care, but still, she was a skittish thing at times - like when he pulled her close for a kiss, or took her over his lap for a long overdue spanking.
Somebody was siphoning funds from the XL-17 project - and Cade Thornton was more than dismayed to find out that every bit of evidence pointed to his fiance. The love of his life - the woman who held every part of him in her small, capable hands.
He couldn't believe it - especially when she ran from him once he'd confronted her about the situation. How much more damning could her behavior be?
Gabby Andolini had never been so hurt in her life! How could he possibly think that of her? Didn't he know her better than that? But when there came a knock at the door of the hotel she'd escaped to on the shores of Maine, she knew exactly who was there. Cade had come to reclaim what was his.

Three Thornton Brothers and the strong women who are in their lives. AJ Thornton and Hope Granger; Beau Thornton and Heather Dennison and Cade Thornton and Gabrielle "Gabby" Andolini. I purchased these books seperately last year, so will add my reviews here. AJ's Hope (Thornton Brothers Book 1) by Carolyn Faulkner This book had originally been released as "THORNTON'S HOPE" The Thornton brothers had been raised and friends with Hope Granger's family. After Hope is done with college AJ Thornton decided that she was grown up enough for a relationship, since he was older than her, the oldest of the five Thornton brothers. His brother Beau and Hope were close in age and had been buddies growing up. AJ had a concept of how he wanted his household to be run when he and Hope married, which would include a domestic discipline relationship, too bad that Hope didn't agree. After he spanked her, she broke off their engagement, left him his rings, and left Texas for Tennessee. Two years later, in the wee hours of the morning, her phone rings and it is Beau calling for help. AJ had been in a plane crash months earlier where he nearly died and she had rushed there to be with him and his brothers until AJ wakes up from the accident, where she left and returned to Tennessee. Two months after the accident, AJ is impossible, he has gone through nurses and even refused help from his physical therapist. Beau knew that only Hope could make a difference. This is their story. BEAU'S DESIRE (THORNTON BROTHERS BOOK #2 This book had been originally released as "Thornton's Desire" This story picks up during part of "AJ's Hope" where Heather Dennison, a physical therapist, has been hired by Beau Thornton to help AJ with his recovery after his accident that nearly took his life. Heather and Beau knock heads as to how best to help AJ and it comes to a standoff, where he pulls her out of the way, picks her up and carries her to the office. Her temper and his belief in protecting women comes to blows after she slaps him across the face, he spanks her across his knee and she quits. The story has some flashbacks but it is to help the reader follow the story into present day happenings. This story is about how Beau and Heather come together after the recovery of AJ and his marriage to Hope. CADE'S WISH (THORNTON BROTHERS BOOK 3) by Carolyn Faulkner This book was previously released as Thornton's Wish. This is book three of the Thornton Brothers Trilogy. It has family members from the first two stories. This is the story of Cade Thornton and Gabrielle "Gabby" Andolini. Cade runs a company that is manufacturing a better feed for cattle. It's is an extension of the Thornton brothers ranch. Cade had worked hard to develop a new line that is showing very promising. Gabby's friend Linda is Cade's office assistant and going on maternity leave, she pulls for out-of-work Gabby to get the job while she is out. Sparks fly with Cade and Gabby and leads to an engagement. But then the CFO of the company brings documentation showing Gabby has been embezzling money and may even been selling off company secrets. Cade is dumbfounded by these reports and when Gabby comes into his office and sees it, she feels like he believes it. Can Cade and Gabby work through this crisis?
