Overview

With two interplanetary superpowers engaged in a secret war, an audacious conspiracy threatens to tip the balance of power between them.

An unsolved series of ruthless attacks could lead to the creation of a vigilante army and push the climate of political paranoia into a dangerous new phase, turning covert war into open conflict.

Tasked to investigate by no less than the Sovereign himself, war correspondent Linc Bostrom must find out who is behind these bold and deadly attacks, and discover if they are motivated by old fashioned greed, or a more sinister desire to turn up the heat under a cold war.

About the Author

Born in the Snowdonia National Park, Hughes' upbringing was sickeningly wholesome, filled with outdoor pursuits such as canoeing, climbing, cycling and competitive skiing.

Progressing from ski racing to ski coaching, the dream of a life of feckless indolence and self-involved crapulence seemed to be drifting ever further away, until, for a brief time he became the singer in a rock band.

The brief time was approximately 17 minutes, which was the time it took for him to realise he hadn't turned the microphone on, after which it became clear to everyone that he really shouldn't be the singer in a rock band.

After some years of "Livin' La Vida Fawlty" running a small hotel in North Wales, he became a freelance writer, which meant he was finally able to keep up with his main hobbies of weight gain and eye-strain. And they all lived happily ever after.
