A candidate for the 2009 Polaris Music Prize, Three was recorded and produced entirely by Joel Plaskett, which makes it the songwriter's third solo album. Additionally, the album consists of three discs, each of which consists of nine tracks. Despite the newfound emphasis on numbers, Plaskett filled Three with his familiar blend of folk and rock, resulting in a strong record that took home the Juno Award for "Adult alternative album" in 2010.
