About the Author

Betty Friesen nee Langeman (1916-1999) had an adventurous and somewhat turbulent childhood, living in various places in Ukraine, Germany, Kansas, and Manitoba. She had a dream - a dream of writing stories for children. She married Andrew Friesen and spent a good part of her life raising a family and taking care of her household. When the children grew up she was able to fulfill her dream and wrote four fiction books about the Martin Family - The Martin Family, More about the Martins, Three Years Later, and Hilltown Friends. She also wrote the story of her life in three volumes - Are We Home Now?, Which House is Home? and A Home for the Heart, all Granny's Story.
