Threesome Sweetness by JoAnne Kenrick

A shot of Threesome Sweetness stirs up emotions….

Elizabeth, a part-time manager of Bell’s Irish Pub and business student, is newly hitched. Her marriage could use a serious shake up, but she finds shopping a more therapeutic use of her time. If Todd’s wife is happy, he’s happy. But it seems nothing is putting a sweet smile on her face these days, not even her friends at Bell’s. So he contacts 1NightStand and arranges the one thing he knows she doesn’t necessarily want but definitely needs for her thirtieth birthday; a threesome.

Enter cowboy Cade, who’s in London, England hoping to make a restaurant franchise deal. After weeks of doors slamming shut, he uses the 1Night Stand agency in hopes of sprinkling some fun into his overseas business trip and perhaps to learn what he’s missing out on by being relationship shy.

A harmless night of intimacy is planned.

Is a dash of Threesome Sweetness the remedy each is looking for, or will the date leave a bitter aftertaste each will regret for the rest of their lives?

About the Author

Born ’n bred Brit, Joanne Kenrick grew up in a wee seaside town in North Wales and has enjoyed a variety of vocations such as holistic healer, window dresser, and ghost tour guide. Having lived in Wales, England, and Scotland with her dear family, she finally escaped the dull British summers to reside in sunny Australia. After two years, they moved to the States where she endured three harsh winters in Minnesota. She now lives in North Carolina with her husband, two kids and two puddy cats. When they aren't demanding her attention, or jumping on her head, she strums away on the keys of her little laptop, creating worlds and adventures she could only ever dream of. Reviewed by FRANCESCA & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog This was one of those few times when the 1 Night Stand series did not deliver what I wanted. ~ Under the Covers THREESOME SWEETNESS is a short story, and a part of the 1 Night Stand series. Not really a series, more like an idea and then stories continue on with that concept. Basically 1 Night Stand is an agency that will facilitate anything you need to make your fantasies a reality. In this instance we have Elizabeth and Todd. Happily married couple, or so it seemed. Elizabeth is the part time manager at a pub in Ireland, and her husband Todd works too much. As all relationships that go through ups and downs, they might be going through a lull in their sex life and Todd decides to spice things up with a threesome as a birthday present for his wife. He brings him the help of 1 Night Stand to find that perfect third. Cade is an american cowboy on a business trip looking to blow off some steam and maybe just the perfect addition to their sex life. Now, while some things worked for me in this story, some just didn’t quite hit the mark. This was one of those few times when the 1 Night Stand series did not deliver what I wanted. While I love the marriage that needs help storyline, I didn’t think they played the saving card correctly. From the very beginning of this threesome, Elizabeth was not into it and almost felt like a get-through moment instead of an enjoy the hell out of this experience moment. I really didn’t get Cade’s motivation. He’s got money, he’s got girls, and he has the love and affection of someone back home that he’s overlooking. I didn’t get what he was finding in this setup, especially when it was clear Elizabeth wasn’t as into the whole idea as she should’ve been and limits started popping up. In the end, like I said, I’m a sucker for an HEA where an already married couple works through their issues and gets to a new point in their relationship where they are back in love again for a little while. So that was my favorite part about this story. Now maybe I’ll have to continue on with this story to find out what happened to Cowboy Cade. *Review copy provided by publisher

Reviewed by: Shyla Book provided by: book provided by the publisher for review Review originally posted at Romancing the Book I’ve always thought there weren’t enough romances featuring married couple who aren’t recovering from some sort of scandal or betrayal. So, when I read this summary I was pleasantly surprised. I’ll start of by saying. Ms. Kenrick delivered the goods. When you’ve been married for awhile it’s all too easy to fall into a rut. Work, school, and duties at home have made Elizabeth and her husband, Todd, fall into that very trap. Elizabeth longs for the excitement they once shared before they were married, and since Todd is the only man she’s every slept with … curiosity is a given. In tune with his wife, Todd is well aware of his wife’s boredom he plans a thirtieth birthday she’ll never forget. I love Todd for the simple fact that he’s so secure in his marriage, and mindful of Elizabeth’s desire. That’s a quality to be cherished, especially after as many years of marriage as they have under their belt. Along with the sexy, American restaurateur, Cade this couple sets fire to the pages. Despite bringing a third into their sexual romp Kenrick makes it very clear this is about Todd, and Elizabeth, which impressed me. I really enjoyed this spicy read and I highly recommend it.
