THRILL SQUEAKER is the 11th book in Ms. Barritt's popular series Squeaky Clean Mysteries. While the relationship between Gabby and Riley move along and changes, each book is stand alone on the mysteries, and this spooky, scary book is a great one to jump in at. Summer vacation and theme parks are at the top of a lot of family's vacation lists. This particular park has been closed down due to three unexplained murders--one of them by Big Foot who supposedly lives in the woods there. When Gabby and her co worker go to help clean up the park so the new owner can open it up in time for tourist season, the first thing they find is another body -- killed by Big Foot! Despite misgivings, Gabby and Cade move into the cabins on the property and then Gabby wakes to find a Big Foot footprint outside her bedroom window. Commercials of the park play without warning in buildings where the electric is off. Men go missing. Another attempted strangling by Big Foot. Multiple footprints... and so much more. This is a book NOT to read after dark unless you aren't bothered by things that go bump in the night. Super scary. Fans of Christy Barritt will not want to miss THRILL SQUEAKER. Recommended.

I kept getting distracted by other things while I was reading this, so it took me awhile to get through. But I enjoyed how it kept me guessing. One minute I was sure who the bad guy was, then the next minute something else happened to make me change my mind. The author keeps things on the lighter side by adding humor amongst the suspense. I was happy for Gabby's change of heart near the end of the story. The loose ends were neatly tied up and Gabby got to have a happy ending. 3.5 stars

Gabby & Co. are in for a deadly thrill Could this be the book Squeaky Clean Mystery fans have long been waiting for? Will Gabby and Riley finally work their issues out? OK, so I really can't tell you, it would ruin half the fun of reading Thrill Squeaker. Christy Barritt has kept us guessing and hoping and I certainly won't spoil it now. At first, I wasn't sure how much my cup of tea this book would be. I mean, Bigfoot? I live in one of the areas in the US that Bigfoot is rumored to haunt so I've heard all kinds of stories. But once again, Christy Barritt pulls off a great story with all of the chilling mystery, quirky characters, and true love that she is known for. Thrill Squeaker is an all around enjoyable read with interesting characters, a very different setting, and a great mystery. (I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.)

I have been anxiously awaiting the newest installment of The Squeaky Clean Series, mainly to see what Gabby and Riley are up to after the way the previous book (Dust and Obey) ended. I must admit, although I love all things Gabby, and very much enjoy everything Christy Barritt writes, I got a little lost with the number of characters being introduced. I did enjoy the quirky humor of Gabby as she thought of some of them though (like the brothers she dubbed Happy, Sleepy, Grumpy, etc.). I also missed the absence of Gabby's best friend Sierra and the other familiar characters and places in Gabby's life. But the mystery of the amusement park and the evidence of a Bigfoot kept me guessing and I was glad to see Gabby working through some of her fears and anxieties concerning her relationship with Riley. I am really looking forward to the next installment, where I believe, Gabby will be staying right around home instead of traveling.

I truly love this series. The book before this one was probably my absolute favorite. I really found this one hard to warm up to. In the other books I just love Gabby's dry humor & laugh out loud. This lacked that kind of humor til the end. Also things seemed really off w/ her and Riley - that is part of the story, but for me a bit too much. Also Riley has blue eyes not brown that she said. I can't help thinking she's writing too many books.
