Can't wait for the next one

Loved it. Going to miss some old friends now. But in this series time really does move on. Fond memories for those who fell. Fun meating the next generation of those taking up the cause. Read the book straight through, then went back and reread the entire series including this one again.

Well, I haven't finished the book yet (pg 379) because I've used up all the coffee in a 50 mile radius of where I live and I'm waiting for re-stocking of the supermarkets. So far it's the kind of multi-hundred page snoozefest padding by exposition that Weber is known for (in some of this series and in some of the Honorverse books). In this case, long multi-page expositions on how hydrogen is obtained, longer multi-page expositions on how a nation's Central Bank works (or doesn't work), even longer multi-page expositions on the feelings of Siddimark loyalists towards the Temple loyalists, evermore longer multi-page expositions about how all the Charisian leaders and their allies are happy the war is over and are busy having babies, and ever evermore longer multi-page expositions about each of the members of the Inner Circle (which has now grown so large that it would be faster if Weber simply listed the 10 or 15 Safeholdians who are NOT part of the Inner Circle). I'll struggle through and finish the book, which hopefully will move the plot ahead by the end of the book, but I don't think I'll be buying the next book in the series at full price.
