If modern day novelist were published based on their ability to write a vividly illustrated story, that enthralles the contemporary reader, this 22 year old author would have been published when he was 2. Once I picked up 'Through the Eyes of a Warrior' I found that I could not detach myself from the book. Not only did the story transcend me across thousands of miles of ocean, but once I was firmly fixed in the exotic, far off and new land, I was unable to let any substantial amount of time pass without eagerly revisiting Mr. Ntangku's masterpiece. If you are a reader, yearning for some adventure and excitement, this emotionally driven tale will delightfully transpose you into the midst of 1920's Africa, where anarchy and chaos have run amuck. You will find yourself holding your breath and plotting dangerous and harrowing escapes along with the book's central character. This has been the best fictional read since Gary Jenning's 'The Aztec'.

For his first book, Akendo offers a thought-provoking story. People of all cultures could relate to the theme of his work. I can't wait to dig deeper into this book and plan to tell everyone I know to pick this one up.

'I offer a whole-hearted remommendation for Akendo Ntangku's novel, Through the Eyes Of a Warrior'.It is not often that an author's debut novel tells such a profound and thought provoking story. Let's hope this is the start of a long career for Akendo'.
