Teens are forever tired of hearing parents say, "What do you have to worry about? You've got it made at your age!" These adults must have grown up on a different planet because teenagers have just as much stress in their lives as the average adult. Even though it may not be the same kind, stress is still a large part of a young adult's life. Just because kids don't have bills to pay and mouths to feed doesn't mean their lives are easy and worry-free. Kendra Doyle thought she was the exception by living in a generally stress-free world. She believed things were going pretty smoothly and that she had a good handle on life. But for Kendra, her grip on that handle slips when she finds out her best friend, Maddie, is being used as a human punching bag by her own father. Kendra will become involved with Maddie's world in ways she never imagined, and her grasp on life's door will be changed forever... through the eyes of Kendra Doyle.

I picked this book up and thumbed through the first few pages and suddenly had to leave for a meeting. I could not shake the story for the rest of the day. I went back to my friend's house where I began reading it, sat down, and finished it in a couple of hours. I borrowed it from my friend and loan it out all the time. He keeps asking for it back, but someone else always has it. It's not too long, it's not too short. It's for guys and girls and very worth my time.
