Overview

Through the Heart of Creation is climate fantasy. The novel takes place the future in a small Appalachian town experiencing climate disasters and an unexpected oil shortage. A few families are informed that God has changed the creation covenant with humans because of their irresponsibility in protecting life. The divine intervention energizes people and all living things to work together to overcome global warming and adapt to climate change. The story depicts a new world in which all of life is enabled to communicate. The mountain community grows closer as it works to implement a variety of solutions. The families in the novel are enhanced by their communities and their community is greatly improved by creative solutions to many long standing problems of resource usage. Worldwide research is also boosted by the need to orchestrate the wide use of renewable sources on the grid and the need for different meteorological patterns to be integrated. Close personal relationships grow even closer in the face of these challenges.

About the Author

Nancy Chinchor is a first time novelist. She spent her career as a scientist putting linguistics and mathematics together with computer science to assist in large-scale data analysis. She published many scientific works alone and with colleagues. Ms. Chinchor turned to fiction after retiring from the CIA. She has noticed that people listen to fiction more readily than facts. This work is a mixture of science fiction and fantasy heavily influenced by theology. She finds this kind of writing freeing and comforting.
