About the Author

Michael Rizzo is a general history enthusiast and prefers to concentrate on writing about the history of western New York, in particular Buffalo. He likes to write about topics that have had little previous exposure before, such as retailing, crime and mayoral history.

He was never really interested in writing and history until 2001 when he purchased a circa 1893 home in Buffalo, New York. At that time he became interested in finding out more about the home which led him to start writing social and genealogy histories of other houses, including a series of articles for the Buffalo News and preservation applications.

That led him to begin researching and writing more local history topics and it hasn't stopped since.
