Overview

She doesn’t want wild and raunchy, just a little spice…

He wants commitment and long-term, not a quick roll…

Two best friends who both want each other, but for very different reasons.

The walls are thin in the Apple Trail Apartments. Ever since she moved in after her divorce, Stephanie has listened to her best friend next door getting busy. By the bed knocking on the wall and the gasping women, Stephanie wants to be one of those women on the other side. She just has to get the courage up to ask.

The only woman Parker Madison ever wanted long-term was the very-married Stephanie. He’s tried finding a substitute, but there just isn’t another woman like her. Now that she's available, he just has to keep his hands to himself for a respectable length of time after her divorce. He’s planning to make a move after eight months. Stephanie takes him by surprise after three. Does he fulfill her request and risk becoming that best friend rebound guy or wait it out to better his chances for happily ever after?

This romance follows the normal ebb and flow of stories of this kind but the author kept me interested by veering just enough off track to keep me turning the pages. The temperature climbs rapidly and then holds its boil through until the satisfying end.

Liked how it started but ended abruptly without an HEA. No resolution.

A sassy, sometimes hot, little romance. Can't help but like the characters, nice writing style. Perfect when you're needing a short read with some heat, 60 to 70 pages on my Nook. It definitely does have a HEA ending that fit right into the story line. I've already downloaded another book by Keri Ford and will continue to look for her books. You won't be disappointed.

Review by Stephanie O: I have a confession: The book blurb had me at Arkansas. I can't explain it, but reading a book that mentions places and things you personally have knowledge about, just brings a new kind of light to the story. I started this book last night, and sadly had to put it down because my eyes were being RUDE! For whatever reason I guess it was time to get some sleep, even though my mind wanted the story to continue! When I picked the book back up this morning, I found myself wanting to reach in and give Stephanie a hug. Then other times I wanted to reach in and smack Parker upside the head . . . which I quickly found I was changing my mind about doing, because he had good reasons to be behaving as he was. It's a story that tackles the do we or don't we situation. Going from friends to more is a slippery slope that only few survive. Packed with so much emotion, this book will have you shaking before it's over with.

When the walls fell, it was one steamy and satisfying ride for this romance junkie. I love when two best friends find a way into each other's arms. I love it even more when the two deserve it as much as Stephanie and Jake do. Keri Ford has shared a journey that will curl your toes one moment and give you goose bumps of joy the next. I walked away with all kinds of sighs of satisfaction. Ooooh, the satisfaction.... Stephanie Faulkner's apartment sits next to her best friend Jake's. In fact, they even share a bedroom wall. Night after night Stephanie listens to Jake's parade of women express their satisfaction.loudly. Stephanie wants some of that. Jake wants Stephanie too, just not for an easy fling. Jake wants it all and he isn't going to settle as Stephanie's booty call. This story really surprised me in all kinds of good ways. I expected a request for a bed call to lead to some heat and love to grow from requited passion. Not what happened. Instead, two characters showed some depth and gave us more than a simple romance mixed in with some fiery hot sex scenes. Not only did the plot play out in a clever and captivating way, the characters' own revelations and struggles really made the story more than just a simple love story. I found THROUGH THE WALL fun and quirky. I was embarrassed for Stephanie as she tried to ask for what she wanted, and I was compassionate for Jake as he refused, having wanted far more than just sex from Stephanie for years. This is the first book in a series about Apple Trail, Arkansas. I think things are about to really get hot in that small town and you can count on me to find a front row seat. Grab some popcorn and pull up a chair next to me. Enjoy!
