Elle has been in love with Noah since they were children and everyone in town knows it. She followed him around like a love-sick puppy and Noah spent most of his time running the other direction. This goes on from childhood through adolescence until one day Elle finds a diary. Noah’s mother died when he was a baby and it’s her diary. Finding the diary is the beginning of a tragic chain of evens which ends with Noah running away from home and nobody hears from him again. Elle tries to make the best of her life after the disappearance of Noah. Then, 10 years later Noah suddenly returns. Elle, now a grown woman, has to face the man she made a fool of herself over as a child. Noah has become a reserved and methodical man while Elle is an adventurous and spontaneous woman. The attraction he feels for her has the potential to destroy his carefully planned life and that terrifies him. Elle has to reconcile the feelings she had for the boy he was and the man he become. This is a difficult book for me to review. It has everything that draws me in, a great love story, a spirited and strong woman, an honorable and complex man, a troubled relationship with lots of twists and turns, and steamy love scenes thrown in to keep it interesting. I really liked this book but something is holding me back from loving it. I think it’s the pace of the book, there is so much anticipation of Elle and Noah finally getting together yet it seem to take them forever to figure it out. It’s a great beginning. I enjoyed the story of Noah and Elle and I’m really looking forward to seeing what will happen with Noah’s brothers. The minute I put this book down I wanted to pick up the next one to see the stories of Zach and Caleb.

I love reading romances with strong, well-matched characters and sexaully charged love scenes. Tides of Love has that and more! Noah Garrett is a professor with a hot streak. Curious as a cat Elle Beaumont is the perfect match for him. I enjoyed this book very much.

Tides of Love by Tracy Sumner Review by Barb Deane, Barb's All Romance Book Store Tracy Sumner's third book is an October release from Zebra entitled Tides of Love. Set on a small Barrier Island in North Carolina at the end of the 19th century, Tides of Love is a sweet and sultry story of an independent and undervalued young woman who knew her heart at a very tender age, despite what her father, her neighbors and the man she loved might have thought. When Marielle-Claire's parents moved their family to Pilot Isle, North Carolina, Elle was just a young girl who did not speak English. When kids on the playground teased and tormented her, Noah Garrett felt compelled to step in and rescue her, and she idolized him because of it. This set the tone of their relationship for years to come - Elle would get into scrapes and Noah would save her. Unfortunately, Noah would also be the butt of the entire town's jokes because everyone could see how Elle worshiped him. At the tender age of eighteen, Noah learns he was an illegitimate child, and only half, rather that the full, brother of Caleb and Zach as he had always believed. Noah held Elle responsible for him discovering this fact and fled Pilot Isle. When he returned ten years later, he was an accomplished professor and mature adult, but he still had trouble facing the three people he had left behind. Elle's life didn't end when Noah left, but her heart has ached for him and her soul has missed him. However, when he returns, she finds that he sees her only as the young girl he left behind, not accepting that she has grown up, matured, and changed during his absence. He fails to give her credit for being a mature, intelligent woman and has to learn to see her in a new light. The journey for Elle and Noah back into each other's arms is impeded by family machinations as well as natural disaster, but they both have a chance to learn to know themselves and each other again. Tracy creates a moving story with endearing characters and a believable romance. You can almost hear the lapping of the ocean on the shore - enjoy the Tides of Love!

Marielle-Claire loved Noah since she was a little girl. Everyone in town knew it. Several trees had the words etched into them. But one fateful time sent young Noah running from his family, and from her, for ten years.

Noah had not wanted to return to Pilot Isle, North Carolina. But he was now a successful marine biologist and was sent to help build the new lab. Thus he was thrown back into his family and forced to face their painful past. Worse, he had to come into contact with Elle again. Now with her as a lovely woman, she was even harder to resist!

Elle never stopped loving Noah, though she sure did try! After only one year of university, her father brought her home. When Elle refused to marry as her father insisted, he withheld her funds. Elle, defiant and independent as ever, moved in with a widow and opened a tiny school for women. But when Noah returned, her world was turned upside down again!

*** EXCELLENT for those days you wish to relax and indulge yourself in a good read! Tracy Sumner's writing takes her readers into the past and deep into the heart of one of the most romantic couples! These two main characters are obviously soul mates and their story will hold you riveted. Don't miss this one! ***
