I truly enjoyed this book. Don't know if I would have visited an era of time where there were none of the modern conveniences, but Georgina totally pulled me into the story. What an awesome picturesque author she is. The idea of time travel is very appealing and Cassandra, the heroine, kept me on pins and needles. I worried about her keeping in character, both in propriety and morals and when her son popped in from the future....the real thrills began. I recommend this book for those who love romance, time travel, and history.

With a stable painter hand and great imagination, Ellis-Young is taking readers on a fascinating time travel journey from the year 2120 into the year 1820. Both years are being drawn with words in such a precise way, that you actually feel you are seeing, feeling and experiencing those times. The story is focusing on Dr. Cassandra Reilly, a scientist that is involved with time travel projects. Very well prepared to be launched to England 1820, she finds herself involved with romance and adventure, as her own son goes back in time to join her. The story gets complicated as her son is arrested and taken to jail. With deep mother`s love and wisdom, and with some friends help she manages to rescue him. Will they be able to travel back on time? The reader would have to find out the answer. Ellis-Young is a talented writer; I am expecting her second book impatiently.

The Time Baroness is a lovely romance with just enough sci-fi and gadgetry to satisfy a die hard Dr. Who fan like myself. Cassandra, the veteran scientist and main character of the book, steps into Hampshire society shortly after the death of Jane Austen to study what the culture and society were truly like. She learns to her dismay, that it was all rather dull. A handsome bachelor moves into the neighborhood and makes her life a little more interesting, but nothing shakes up the complacent countryside like her son James who decides to surprise his mom with an unplanned visit from the future. I love the way the author writes about her character's passions, especially the musical side of the story. It reminds me of the passion for the study of Greek in Tasha Alexanders "And Only to Deceive." All in all, this author pulled some of my favorite styles together for a satisfying read.

I must admit that I love the UK, my husband is Scottish and has a Beatle collection, I collect royal memorabilia. That is why I search out books set in Britain. Mix that up with two of my favorite genres, history and science fiction, throw in a romance, some great food, a surprise ending and 'The Time Baroness' makes for a great read. Cassandra travels back to Jane Austen's England, but not from this century but from the next, so the author has to invent the world of the future and the past, and the effect both times have on the other. She recreates that world so well that you begin to think it is real. I highly recommend this book.

The premise of this book sounded fascinating; the author transports an Austin loving fan from a future time back to post Austin England. Why not send her back to when Austin was alive? Because she didn't want to deal with writing Austin into the plot. It was nopt well written. I couldn't keep my attention on it. Not reccommended unless you have time to waste
