This work presents in condensed format the historical record of the game of football since its inception in the late 19th century. Each page in the chronology represents the highlights of one year. The records are arranged in three columns, covering professional, collegiate, and post-season action, respectively. Included are leading players (passers, rushers, receivers, etc.), league champions, bowl winners, and outstanding individual performances. Ultimately, the book's reference value rests in its pairing of the professional and collegiate games in a single resource. Otherwise, the rawboned approach makes it suitable only as a complement to core collections.-- William H. Hoffman, Ft. Myers-Lee Cty. P.L., Fla.
