Prieto is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. She lives in Metairie, Louisiana.
Virginia Howard has worked since the 1970s at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in various roles, including associate editor, graphic designer, and Web designer. A resident of Metairie, Louisiana, she is an active member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and has been editor of the literary journal %iTHEMA%r since its inception in 1988.
