Using fast-paced narrative, poignant dialogue, and attention to detail, Mark Leonard has weaved an intriguing and engaging story of a reluctant protagonist - Cadet Richard Arthur, a student at fictional Maxwell Military Academy - who wants little more than to graduate and ride out the Vietnam War at Harvard University, but who nonetheless becomes entangled in the mystery surrounding the death of Cadet Ted Sheridan, a death which members of the Maxwell staff - fearing bad press - quickly deem an "accident." As he beings to investigate the odd circumstances surrounding Sheridan's death, Arthur uncovers evidence which threatens to shake the foundations of the academy and the values the military purports to uphold and revere. Tin Soldiers is a must-read for anyone who enjoys mystery-genre novels.
