Overview

The Titanic Conspiracy by Vincent McKalin

The Titanic was labelled unsinkable by its manufacturers. It, however, defied all odds and sank to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, on its maiden voyage. What was the real cause of the disaster? How did the unsinkable sink? It is said the ship was cursed by one of its passengers, who was not welcome on board. This story tells the strange and incredible tale.

I love anything about the titanic so I got this book for a short read. Awful. No facts, awful writing, horrible 18 pages.

It's got one star only because the site insists I give it a rating. I'm glad it was free, because I'd be kicking myself if I'd paid for it. I read it in about a half hour and was complaining about bad phrasing in the first 5 minutes. The best I can say about it is that it was short and free. I did not enjoy it, and kept reading in hopes it might get better.

Never get it

According to the overview that is provided of this book, the manufacturers of the RMS (Royal Mail Ship) Titanic claimed that she was "unsinkable." Titanic's designers never claimed that she was unsinkable or even exceptionally fast. The ship's builders, Harland and Wolff (based in Belfast, Northern Ireland - they still construct some ships and blades for wind turbines) claimed that the ship's system of watertight bulkheads "made the vessel [ship] virtually unsinkable." Note the world "VIRTUALLY." Clearly if the authors did not know this their book is probably not very impressive and certainly not worth wasting one's money on.

Problem... Not a complete book. Its only 18 pages. I think this should've been labeled 'short story'. If it had been labeled as such, i wouldn't have bought it. Complete waste!

I enjoy anything about the titanic, but i this had no facts about titanic. And the ship sunk because the ocean water was still, causing it to act like black ice, therefore they didnt see the reflection of the iceberg. It didnt sink becuase of this. The author should do the research. Im glad it was free, becuase it was not worth it.

Ridiculous. Not at all based on any historical findings. Waste of the written word.

I found this short story to be rather boring not to mention stupid. Not worth reading even if it is free.

This feels like a short story from a beginner's creative writing class. It's cliche and has juvenile depth

Hate can not begin to describe this book. It was a fail of life. I know it was free, but ive gotten amazing books for free. This deserves zero stars

This is an ugly, vicious story about how a black man and his family were able to board the Titanic and how a pair of white men and a wife plotted and threw the black man overboard "to the sharks," because they hated black people. The black man is portrayed as a mindless, immoral husband who eagerly attempts to betray his wife and young daughters to have sex with a white woman and thus walks right into the white men's hands who plot to kill him. (There, I told you the entire title so you don't have to read the book.) This is an unforgivable story to be written in this modern era even though the story was written about an era when such racist hatred was acceptable. The author is trading on the title "The Titanic Conspiracy" to get you to read his story in that there are other, better known book(s) existing about true conspiracies (myths) concerning the Titanic. A few reviewers here and/or on the sites gave this short story stars for writing style, but no stars, minus stars overall is too good for the racist, loathsome content.

I was not impressed with this book. It wasn't anything like I expected it to be. Is it really a book?

I am sorry that a story about all the loss of life has to end up about race. I refuse to read on, it is sad that this has to happen on something that is about death.

Don't waste your time. I thought I would give it a try because I like stuff about Titanic and it was only 18 pages, but everyone else was right. This was awful!
