About the Author

Katya spent too many years chasing someone else's definition of success. Her life simplified, she returned to her first love of writing.

These days you'll find her writing, pet sitting, juggling a number of freelance gigs, and reigning as her home's domestic goddess. She lives in the Midwestern U.S. with her husband, dog and cats. Alas, she has, as of yet, been unable to teach her husband how to purr.

This book is 2nd in a series by Katya Armock. I hate reading books out of order, so after I received this one to do an honest review on, I bought the other one to read first. I enjoyed the first one, but I loved this one! Chloe has the ability to talk to animals telepathically. In the first book, Chloe met Jorge, who is now her jaguar shape shifter boyfriend. Because of her ability to talk to animals, she can also communicate with Jorge the same way since he is jaguar. As Chloe's abilities grow, she gets scared. She's afraid of hurting someone with it-but eventually learns how to control and master it instead. This book had a family aspect to it that I liked. Jorge took Chloe to meet his family and spend the holidays with them. In the time that she was there, she also connected with her own mother. I am hoping there will be another book so we can see what happens with Chloe's mom and some of the other characters in this book. Overall, this book has a lot of great chemistry between Chloe and Jorge and good humor. I will definitely read the next one.

Even though I didn't read the first book in this series I didn't feel like I missed out on so much I couldn't figure out what was going on in this book. I really enjoyed Chloe and Jorge's story. I liked the twist with the shifter and non-shifter relationships in this book. It made it refreshing to read. I thought Katya Armock did a great job with the storyline and I was kept interested from the very beginning. I enjoyed the cast of characters that made up this story and they all did an amazing job at keeping the story very interesting. Chloe has some unique gifts that she is still very much learning about. I enjoyed the chemistry she has going on with Jorge and their romance is full of wonderful hot sex scenes. Chloe is on a journey to learn more about her gifts and how to harness them and Jorge is right there with her to support and love her. I love how she was able to connect with her mother but there is still so much more to learn about her. The author didn't leave you with a huge cliff hanger but there are questions to be answered in future books in this series. Like will Chloe ever gain full control of her gifts and what will come of her mom and where will her and Jorge end up....hopefully married. The only things missing was maybe just a bit more information about Chloe's gifts. Otherwise this was a really good read. I look forward to reading more in this series and highly recommend this author and this enjoyable series! I received a copy to read for an honest review and I can honestly say that this was a really good story!
