About the Author

Demelza Carlton has always loved the ocean, but on her first snorkelling trip she found she was afraid of fish.

She has since swum with sea lions, sharks and sea cucumbers and stood on spray-drenched cliffs over a seething sea as a seven-metre cyclonic swell surged in, shattering a shipwreck below.

Sensationalist spin? No - Demelza tends to take a camera with her so she can capture and share the moment later; shipwrecks, sharks and all.

Demelza now lives in Perth, Western Australia, the shark attack capital of the world.

The Ocean's Gift series was her first foray into fiction, followed by the Nightmares trilogy. She swears the Mel Goes to Hell series ambushed her on a crowded train and wouldn't leave her alone.

Love that the devil is willing to change for the love of his angel. This book makes me giggle with both characters attitude:)

As the romance between Mel and Luce continues, not without the odd crisis, the author cleverly opens up Luce’s character for scrutiny. The more I read about Luce, the more he grows on me. He’s enough reformed angel to be better behaved than formerly, but some of the demon nature remains, causing him dreadful conflict and providing the reader with entertainment. The research into the different cultures Mel and Luce visit is sound and a credit to the author. The scenes abroad are well drawn and convincing. The character studies are fascinating and with each page, the reader is not quite sure what they will get next. It’s more than just an entertaining storyline, but a comment on human morality and the sad state of affairs that humans get themselves into and need to be so often rescued from. I loved this next in the Mel series and would definitely recommend it. As ever, it’s very well written and Demelza Carlton has excelled herself once again.
