Some new age wiccan just revives stereotypes, but Silver R's books speak to the spirit, soul and white light of modern witchcraft. No apologies, no excuses, no minced words. Direct and to the point. With humor.

From start to finish this was an excelent and informative book, it has the perfect excersises and spells for beggining or advanced witches. Silver writes with such feeling that it is almost as if she is actually talking directly to you. I would recomend this book to anyone, wiccan or not, because it gives helpful information on how to live a positive and spiritual life, and there are also many good excersises that can be used by any religious person. Please e-mail me if you have any questions. :-)

I'm a 24 year old female and am a hereditary witch. Just when you think you know all there is to know about the craft, Silver does it again! Thrilling and fulfilling! Another GREAT accomplishment for Silver RavenWolf

This book was okay and is great for working on focusing your mind but I've found that the more I read Silver's works I don't like her as an author. She speaks of not hating other religions and respecting them but talks down about Christian's etc. She focuses entirely too much on complicated rituals and what real witches are and are not. Although I will not be getting rid of her books I will be taking all of her writings with a grain of salt.

I experienced hours of spiritual and personal enlightenment as I searched my soul for the reason why I would buy this book after already reading another of this woman's books. Those hours would have been better spent contemplating a better book. The cover is very nice, though.

Silver has a set of exercises for self-empowerment, which is a wonderful way to become involved in her book and helps to create change in your life. She discusses ritual in detail and explains each step so that you know exactly what you're doing and why. She talks about creating harmony in your home with many useful tips for both mundane cleaning and spiritual cleaning. There is also a useful appendices for candle colors, herbal correspondences, moon magick, etc.

Okay, so this book isn't what I expected, it was still pretty good. I myself am not really a witch, but this stuff is somewhat cool to think about. Anyways I'd say it teaches you pretty much everything about wicca and/or witchcraft. Before, and after a spell, the rules, deities, not just the basics, EVERYTHING. But it isn't a good book to have alone, have this with a spell book, and you'll be all set!

This book is excellent! It's very difficult though, and a little scary.

Because of the nature of B&N's comments guidelines, I can not say everything I'd like to about this title or it's author. What I will say is I believe the author not to write in a powerful manner. Her words lack true spirit and potency, and therefore, though they may be helpful in unlocking certain doors of our minds, I don't believe she can truely guide us or teach us much, through this or her other works. I find this book (and others by S.R.W.) to be very commercial and weak. I advise against the purchace of this book, at least without further investigation into the author. She comes from a VERY well known lineage, and her work reflects that. If you are going to try her writings, why not start with a less expensive book like: Silver's Spells for Prosperity, Or one of her fictional titles about young teenage witches like: Murder at Witches' Bluff: A Novel of Suspense and Magick Or by the witch in a box kit: Teen Witch Kit: Everything You Need to Make Magick! Now everyone can be a witch in seconds! wow! To Light a Sacred Flame is the third book in her series which starts with either Teen Witch or To ride a silver broomstick, then progresses with To stir a magick cauldron...If you are interested in Silver's writings, why not start at the beginning of the set? Though even I must admit, I think this is the best book she's ever published!
