A ship of brides heading west...

Alessandra Rose Whiting intends to hide from her guardian until she reaches her majority and can control her own estate. What better place to hide than a group of women looking for a new life? Unfortunately, she forgot one thing. Her privileged lifestyle has left her without practical skills. How could she have known how complicated cooking could be?

A harebrained scheme...

Deverell Blake has promised to help his friend bring women to Oregon. He is quite content to leave the wooing to others until he can shed his responsibilities and follow his own dreams. He doesn't count on an inept beauty to bumble into his life.

However, Alessandra isn't as well-hidden as she thought, and she has to turn to Dev for help.

What can you do when fate decides to toy with your plans?

A tale of false identities, discovering your strengths, and unexpected love. Sometimes running away brings you home.

Loved this story. Loved that Alessandra was willing to do what she had to do to get away from an overbearing controlling Uncle, and then realized that she didn't have the skills to survive but instead of freaking out she found a way to use what she  did know and made friends that were willing to help her.  She also decided after fighting it to follow her heart,  well maybe the fluttery feeling in her stomach but she followed it.  I have loved everything Gabi has written, every genre, every hero and heroine and even the villains,  if you can call them that. I hope there will be a sequel or two to this one I would love to see Beatrice’s story  and Dev’s brother and sisters too.
