Overview

To Tempt An Angel (Book 1 Douglas Series) by Patricia Grasso

Angelica Douglas has no idea that she's the Countess of Melrose. What she does know is that she needs to support her family as a card shark, while finding a way to seek revenge on the men who ruined her father and sent her family spiralling down into poverty. Robert Campbell, Marquess of Argyll, heir to the Duke of Inverary, has no idea who Angelica truly is. He just wants to watch over her and make her his mistress. Angelica thinks Robert is simply a dashing rogue who is far too dangerous for her peace of mind. Robert thinks Angelica is an angel except when she's being a pain in the behind. When Robert finds out that his own father may have been one of the men who ruined Angelica's family, he vows to keep a careful eye on her. When Angelica finds out that Robert's father may have been one of the men responsible, she vows to stay as far away from Robert as possible. But when danger threatens, both Robert and Angelica must face the truth and let fate take the upper hand.

Sorry......................... Having a child with your brothers wife is not just careless.  It's sick.   No way could you make a hero out of this guy.  Without a hero there is no story.

Philandering hero with two bastard children; one with his brothers wife... his son is his nephew; but its okay it was just once and he was drunk. He had the illegit kids before he met his Angel. I could have really loved this book but I hate this type of macho careless hero. Angel deserved better.

This book feels very long. The romance is instant and unbelievable. The girl is very immature and I found myself completely annoyed with her by the end. She gets angry very quickly then turns around and forgives without any reason just as quickly. She had no personality and the male treated her like the twit she is. The conversation was awkward and the interactions lame at best. The plot is barely hanging on by the end. I would think a good editor could have cut this book in half and it still would have been lacking.

Pass it by. They have sex after 2 meetings and just after she and her sister rob a body from a grave. Seriously bad story line.

The book is too long but lacks substance. Characters are weakly developed. Plots don't support the story line. I feel like reading the story in the present time part of the book, not the 1800s

It was okay but i have no urge to read anymore of this series. I didnt mind that argyll had bastards floating around but i did mind the lack of explaination about the deceased brother. Was there any? So ehhhhh yeah i made it thru but could be improved. I really wanted to like angel but i couldnt.

It is poorly written and undeveloped. The plot jumps from one surprise to the next to the point were its ridiculous. Nit even half way through and Im over it. Storyline could have been interesting but it was excecuted terribly.
