Today's Truth!! This second installment was nothing less than a great follow up to Yesterday's Lies. Terri dropped some twists and turns in this book that will leave you reading over a few lines trying to figure out if her characters really said what you think they said. A nicely written piece of work that will have you waiting to see what she comes up with next. Remember that yesterday's lies do not disappear, they become today's truth and will often cut the deepest. Give yourself time to heal and approach the situations of life carefully before you make the decision to lie to the ones that you love... or so you say that you love. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world.

This is one of the first books for review that at the end I emailed the author and said, "What have you done?!" Not that it's a bad thing, not at all. In fact, it's been awhile since an ending has stuck with me like that. Today's Truth is book two by author Terri D., the first book being Yesterday's Lies. I reviewed Yesterday's Lies awhile ago and was pleased when the author recently asked me to review the follow-up book. So pleased in fact that I read the book in five hours... and then emailed the author. Today's Truth reads like a soap opera. With a roller coaster of emotions, twists and turns that you won't expect, and a cliff-hanger ending that'll have you emailing the author. Today's Truth follows the characters of Yesterday's Lies as the deal with the death of David, Jr. and discover secrets that are better left hidden. Jada, David Jr.'s wife, is still dealing with the death of her husband, exactly a year ago. Since his death her best friend, Toni, has married Darien and had a baby. Benjamin, Toni's ex and David, Jr.'s best friend, is still dealing with his love, and loss of, Toni. Vince is dealing with the betrayal of Gina and trying to find a child given up for adoption eight years ago. Add to that Gina's dilemma's and dramas and David, Sr.'s low down dirty dealings and you have one heck of a soap opera. I know it sounds like a lot to take in, but it really isn't when reading the book. As I said before, this is a second book in a series and can't be read alone. In order to truly get the story, and the characters, you must first read Yesterday's Lies. I liked Yesterday's Lies, I loved Today's Truth. The authors writing has grown and grabbed the reader. I believe I mentioned that I read it in five hours and got so mad I emailed the author, right? Wanna know why... guess you'll have to read it to find out. If you're looking for engaging characters and a soap opera type story that you can sink your teeth into, and be thankful your life is different, this is it. I was not paid for my review. All the opinions stated here are my own. I was gifted this book, my was in no way swayed. Thank you for taking the time to read! - Melissa

Terri D has once again left me speechless. This book was an awesome can't put down follow up. I would recommend this book to everyone. Even non readers or slow readers will love the constant suspense you get. But you have to read part one Yesterday's lies and you can further enjoy Today's truth..

Today's Truth continues the story of how a close group of friends deal with the pain that only the deception of a loved one can inflict. The death of David, Jr. has rendered Jada unable to move on with her life. She wonders if going on with her life is disrespectful to the memory of her husband... until she finds out that her marriage may not have been as sacred as she thought. Benjamin, now home from a seven year jail sentence, wants to know if there is any chance that he and newly married Toni still have a love connection. Vince is forced to deal with the betrayal of his wife Gina while learning that he will experience an unexpected change more drastic than he ever imagined. David Sr. is used to protecting his flesh and blood at all costs, but what happens when he can no longer control the outpour of evidence proving his prior heinous actions? This was the second novel penned by Terri D. I was astounded as I read how deeply the characters' relationships were tied together. As the story unfolded, the plot got more interesting with multiple twists. I love how there is a main storyline, yet each character has their own subplot which made the book even more of an intense read. I was especially able to feel Jada's emotions when she finally lets her feelings known to all. This title makes you question what you would and wouldn't do to protect a dear friend regardless of the looming repercussions. The end left me hanging to the point that I contacted the author to request a third installment! There were a few phrases here and there that I thought were repetitious and issues with typesetting. In spite of these small items, I am definitely looking forward to future titles from Terri D. I can't wait to find out what happens next with these friends! Ondrea L. Davis, Reviewer 4.5 stars
