The Golden Book about The Golden Rule! Best book I have ever read about the Golden Rule. This book is a fabulous adventure tale about a tragedy in London, which forces a rich couple to go on a magical quest in order to find their long lost daughter. Promised a ticket to paradise if they endure the journey, they search high and low and meet many religious icons from the past, who teach them the lessons about the Golden Rule, and assist them in finding their daughter. With surprises at every turn, and an ending that brings us back to Slone's first book, The Great Mystery, Together is Paradise is a thought provoking masterpiece.

This author reminds us that even the simple things in life can make a big difference. Together in Paradise begins in England in the heart of the World Cup frenzy with a wealthy couple and their daughter. As they suddenly realize that their priorities need an adjustment, they decide to go on vacation, but are caught up in a tragedy that leaves them begging for forgiveness, and a way back to their normal life. However, The Great Mystery has different plans, and sends them on a quest to rediscover both the meaning and importance of family, and the true location of Paradise. As they make the arduous journey, Thomas and Sarah meet icons of the spiritual path from all around the world. This book is wonderful, and teaches a great lesson about paying attention to those around us, and treating others as we would like to be treated. I recommend this book to anyone looking for an easy, but exciting book that will have you thinking and talking to your friends when you are finished. I would have thought Slone's books would stir up controversy because of his apparent perspective on religion as a spiritual quest for each individual, and his view of God as a universal spirit rather than a person who favors any particular group. (I could be wrong on this, but that's my take from his first two books). Nevertheless, it doesn't seem to be a controversy just yet. Perhaps the world is ready for this kind of thing. Sure would be nice. Anyways, It's nice to read a spiritual book that isn't religious or preachy at all. It is truly a breath of fresh air!

Probably the best book I've read this year! A friend of mine told me about this book and how Slone's first book was a big hit in her book club, so I decided to read this one at the pool on my kindle...probably not a good idea because I could not put it down and now I have sunburn. Great book though! Not too long, but its a good way to spend a few bucks. Hard to find books like this for cheap anymore.

AMAZING story! Everyone should read this book... As with Slone's first book, he starts from the first page, and keeps you turning pages until the very end. Fantasy, Wisdom, Mystery, you name it...this book has it, and it doesn't take 1000 pages to do so! An easy read that is well worth the time!

Slone delivers another classic! While this story still speaks to promote unity in the world, I feel like this book is less personal than Slone's first, "The Great Mystery". Together in Paradise is about the Golden Rule, and the story is framed within a fictional tragic event, instead of the author's real life struggle. Nevertheless, this book is equally meaningful, equally powerful, and equally enjoyable as his first. As for controversy, this book may deliver in time. There are still many people out there who don't want a united world, and see this as a sign of bad things to come. I'm not one of those people, but just the thought should spark interest in this author's message. He often highlights the interdependent nature of life, and offers insight into how we can capitalize on that connection. Rarely is one person so in tune with both science, and spirituality. I highly recommend this book, and Slone's other work!

If you read one book about The Golden Rule, this should be it. Together in Paradise renewed my interest in world religions, and restored my hope and faith in humanity. I highly recommend this book!

The Slone specialty: "the story within the story"... Great Book! This is a very important book, and it has been written so that any reader of any age can enjoy it and get something useful out of its message. Together in Paradise should be translated into every language, and sent around the world. It would inspire us all to love one another, and we could use a little of that these days! I just love how this author spins together stories that speak to each person in a special way. Its like reading the things you don't like to read, but with this guy, he makes it so interesting that you keep wanting more. When I was finished with this book, I got out my bible for the first time in years, because I knew there was more to it than I had seen before. This book should be on everyone's to-read list this summer!

The Great Mystery is such a fascinating character! I'm very pleased with this author's storytelling abilities, and with the life lessons that he seamlessly builds into each adventure. This book traces a path that meets a frightened couple with some of the most famous figures of world religion around the world. From Jesus to the Buddha, Slone takes us on a journey through time, and helps us realize the simple truth behind all spiritual mandates... to love others as we love ourselves. This lesson fits nicely with the first book by this author as well. Personally, I love these kinds of stories, and this is one of my favorites.

A quick and easy read that you won't forget! Much like Slone's first book, The Great Mystery, this story begins with tragedy, takes you on a fantastic adventure, and ends by making you really think about what's important in life. This author is in touch with a spiritual truth that few others can weave into interesting fiction, and he puts it in words that are easy to enjoy and understand and almost any age. Great book!

The Great Mystery continues! I can't wait for more books in this series by Slone. This author has a way of spinning some of the most important lessons about life into very exciting and inspiring tales. Paulo Coelho's Alchemist comes to mind when I try to compare the stories to a more well-known author who has sold millions of books. Together in Paradise is destines to be an American Classic, and should inspire us all to do good.

GREAT story...GREAT moral...GREAT from beginning to end! Loved it Its hard to find a great book nowadays that is both appropriate and intriguing for all ages, but Slone show's once again that he can do just that. My teenage daughter read this book and thought I would like it, she was right. What a timely message of hope for our troubled world.

This is a good story, and has a lot of surprises. I really enjoyed the book, but I;m still unsure if I agree with the message of this author's books. As a christian, I have always believed certain things about heaven and god, and Slone is perhaps more of a UU, therefore I disagree with parts of his message. Nevertheless, I should not hold that against his writing. The book is well written, and the plot is easy to follow. It's exciting and I couldn't stop turning pages until the end. Most people will enjoy this book very much, no matter one's religious preference. It takes a special book to take on spiritual matters and not push people away, but this author does it well.

This is the second book I have read by this author, and once again I am impressed. His stories remind me most of the Bible, because they can mean so many different things to the readers. Books like these are like puzzles, sure to be a classic.

The only thing I did not like about this book, is that it wasn't longer. Then again, there is something to be said for brevity in today's busy world. Overall, Slone packs great story into less than 200 pages. The message is profound and timely, and the wisdom is timeless. Looking forward to more books in this series!

insightful story about the golden rule, with a plot twist that made me question what I have always thought about heaven, hell, and the afterlife...
