Overview

Tokyo. The cultural and economic hub of the Eastern world. Not unlike the legendary city of Babylon, its man-made tower stretches toward the heavens ... a symbol of its people's ambition and their indomitable spirit. Nowhere on Earth will you find such vanity ... or such beauty.

This is my home.

My name is Sumeragi Subaru, and I hunt the dead. Then I return them to peace.

No matter where my work leads me, I suspect I'll never leave Tokyo in spirit. But then again, it seems so few people do these days ...

OMG. If you never heard of CLAMP, then PICK THIS UP! It is a manga full of supernatural stories with ties to human nature that will enchant you, haunt you, and amaze you. The characters and the way they talk and act is so true to life, it makes you feel like you've met people like them before. Supernatural manga at it's best, this is one of my favorite titles from CLAMP.

This is an amazing book and a great start to a great series! The reader is almost immediately drawn into Subaru's strange yet familiar world and will find it very hard to come out again. All of the characters are well-developed, the story is fantastic, and the artwork is awesome, as well. Readers of CLAMP's recent books will notice a huge difference in the artwork, but it's great to compare the style change, especially the evolution of the Tokyo Babylon versions of Subaru and Seishirou (and sometimes Hokuto) to the X/1999 ones. The last story, 'Destiny,' is definitely my favorite as it hints at Seishirou's dark secret. Even though I know what it is (I've read X), I still can't wait to see it from the Tokyo Babylon perspective. Overall, great book and I highly recommend it!

One of CLAMP's masterpieces! Particularly lovely for those of us who like a bit of shonen ai (no yaoi, sorry) in our material. Very good read for girls with a love for pretty boys and ghost stories. Absolutely excellent.
