Did you brush and floss yourself like mom told us to?

Oh Tom, you worry too much. You don't really believe that stuff mom says about us getting sick if we don't brush and floss after every meal do you?

I brush and floss after every meal like mom says and you should too or you will be sorry.

I hate doing it. It takes too long and I would rather go out and play. Besides I'm not worried. Look at me. I'm healthy and strong. I'm not sick.

Like I said, it's not a good idea to not do like mom says. It could end up costing you in the long run.

I'm not afraid, Tommy. I haven't been brushing or flossing for months and I feel just fine.

Three Months Latter

I don't feel good, mom. My head is aching and throbbing.

It looks like you are getting a cavity on the side of your head. You have not been brushing and flossing like I asked you to do, have you?

I'm sorry, mom. I promise I will listen to you from now on. I promise.

I know mom. I love you too.

I don't tell you to do these things to be mean to you, Tammy. I tell you because I love you and I don't want to see you get sick.

(2) Drilled out and filled!!! Won't that hurt???

(1) I will make you dentist appointment so you can have it drilled out and filled.

(2) I have learned I should always listen to you mom. If I would have listened, I would still be perfect. Now I will never be the same again.

(1) Yes, it will hurt, but if you would have listened to me you would not have had to go through this. I hope you learned your lesson.

1 Hi, Tommy. 3 I'm sick because I didn't brush and floss like mom told us. 5 I know, Tom. will never be the same for the rest of my life, all because I didn't listen to mom. I am going to listen to Mom. I learned my lesson.

2 Hi, Tammy. How come you are in bed and not out playing with your friends on this nice afternoon? 4 I told you that you would be sorry if you didn't listen to mom. Look at you now. You have a black hole in the side of your head. Now they will have to fill that hole. You will have the filling forever.
