About the Author
Long, long ago (really, it wasn't all that long ago) in a faraway land (actually, it was a small south Texas town -- home of big hair, fast boats, lip-smacking barbecue and the world's biggest pecan), Ann started on that great voyage called life. After meeting and marrying her "Prince Charming" they embarked on a great adventure. Throughout the years they expanded the family to include two kids and a menagerie of four-legged friends ranging from dogs, to cats, to horses. And courtesy of the U.S. Air Force they homesteaded in twenty-three houses located in eighteen towns, nine states and two continents. Talk about living life to its fullest.
Now she's sharing her version of a tree house in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her hubby, Bob, Katie (the world's sweetest golden retriever), and two very spoiled cats. From her office she can see ducks swimming on a pond that doubles as her backyard.
For her debut novel, Ann relied on her fourth generation Texas heritage to create the fictional city of Port Serenity. Her childhood in a small southern town gave her a wealth of colorful and eccentric personalities that she's using in subsequent books.
Meanwhile, let's get back to Ann's story. Despite the time she spent traipsing back and forth across the country, she managed to obtain two master's degrees -- one in Political Science and one in Urban Planning. She's also a certified teacher and a certified land use planner. Now she spends her time dreaming up stories, playing tennis, walking the dog and generally having a good time. Instead of writing legally defensible land use plans, she gets to make up stuff -- really good stuff!
