Tora Fright Patches Things Up: A Story About Forgiveness is an installment of the Prayer Monsters series, and is a meaningful and charming children’s story. The characters are cute orange monsters (not scary) of the Fright family. Tora Fright has created something special for the art festival. When there is a mishap with her baby brother and her project is broken, Tora becomes angry and upset with him. Through guidance from her mother, and turning to the Lord in prayer, she learns to forgive. I love children’s stories that have a moral and follow Biblical principles. The illustrations are colorful and cute, and the story provides meaningful and fun entertainment for the early years.

Very colorful with cute characters, this book is great for any child under the age of 7. Even babies will enjoy it. Tora admits she’s angry and repents of it. What a wonderful value to teach the littles in our lives. The drama produced between siblings is handled in a calm manner that in itself is teachable to adults. I highly recommend this book for the children in your life. The simplicity of the story makes it very easy to understand. I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

Tora Fright Patches Things Up: A Story about Forgiveness, part of the Prayer Monsters Series, created by Tracey Madder, illustrated by Bonnie Pang, hard-cover, 30 pages, children's book Tora showed her family something beautiful she made. It won a prize. Then the unthinkable happens … her baby brother touches it and - I love this little book. It is written with heart and honesty. The colors are bright and the monsters are not scary. As I read the book I could feel the real conflict. Being a mom, I've experienced this event more times than I would have wanted. The situation is handled well and, best of all, no name calling, drama or sulking. Yay! Some children's books contain so much violence and name calling, throwing things and drama, kidding and bullying (there's a find line between the two and I would argue they are the same), and selfishness and pride. This book was a breath of fresh air. It was also a gentle reminder of a recent issue I had with a friend – I also need to pray the forgiveness prayer included in this book. Thank you Ms. Madder. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
