Has potential to be good but failed attempts at writing beyond her genre sinks it. Heroine at first seems like she dances to the beat of her own drum but halfway through turns out to be a pushover for the right guy. The guy is a selfish jerk. The resolution is forced.

The pairing of a rough blue collar fireman with a new age witch was just fabulous fun! This was a quirky adorable romance.

Ok... So the title of this review will make sense if you understand the plot. Sean, a firefighter, meets Gemma, a new-age woman and witch. Literally. This story was a bit strange, but I think that Martin often tells quirky stories. Sean is a typical "man's man," while Gemma is more of a free-spirited pagan. The match seems destine to fail from the start. The two characters have little in common other than a deep attraction. As the story unfolds, a lot of drama takes place and really makes the reader take a deeper look at the characters and some prevalent issues. I don't want to ruin the unfolding of the events, which are occuring every-which-way. However, I think it is worth a read if you are a Martin fan. For me, the book had a lot of misunderstandings and near misses that are true to life but not necessarily ideal in my mind. I like when my characters get the problems all tied up, or, if the drama is occurring, its occurring with the characters in the same room. Martin addresses the stereotypes associated with each character brilliantly and tells a complex, fun tale. It has its intense moments, which add for extra drama. I feel like Sean is a very realistic character and hero. He has that kind of personality that I actually see exhibited by my own boyfriend! I would say chance a read... You may find it a magical one.
