About the Author

Diana Rowland has lived her entire life below the Mason-Dixon line. She has worked as a bartender, a blackjack dealer, a pit boss, a street cop, a detective, a computer forensics specialist, a crime scene investigator, and a morgue assistant, which means that she's seen more than her share of what humans can do to each other and to themselves. She won the marksmanship award in her Police Academy class, has a black belt in Hapkido, and has handled numerous dead bodies in various states of decomposition. She presently lives in southern Louisiana with her husband and her daughter where she is deeply grateful for the existence of air conditioning. A master of urban fantasy, she’s the author of the Demon series and the White Trash Zombie series. She can be contacted via her website,

"Mark of the Demon crosses police procedure with weird magic. Diana Rowland's background makes her an expert in the former, and her writing convinces me she's also an expert in the latter in this fast-paced story that ends with a bang."

This was the best book in this series to date, and I have loved them all. Excellent world building. The book was fast paced and the end lets you know there will be more books in this series for which I am greatful to the writer. This is what Urban Fantasy should be.

I have really enjoyed all the books in this series however I have to admit that “Touch of The Demon” is by far, hands down, my favorite. After a few books most series start to fall flat and are predictable, but Diana Rowland has taken an already great series and breathed new life and excitement into it, making it simply fantastic! I love that the story moved from one dimension to another, thereby introducing us to a new cast of characters while still keeping all the characters we know in play. The plots and twists will keep you guessing until the very end…and even then may leave you with a few questions. This is 400 pgs. of bliss! I am eagerly awaiting the next installment!

I have to say that I'm disappointed in this novel addition. It just was not like any of the others that I have previously read and all of a sudden the Demonic Lord that Kara has been having an affair with is suddenly the BAD GUY and now we have a whole new love interest for our heroine. It is like the author can't decide what direction she wishes to take her character. This novel addition is poorly scripted and needs lots of work. Her editor should have stopped her before this addition was completed.

I was shocked by how good this book was. Epic world building, answers to mysteries laid out prior, and a very sleepless night of reading till 4:30AM... Hats off to the author and I hope to see the next in this series soon.

Plot exposed: few authors have willingness to torture their main protagonist but you can find it here. A tough thing to write but this nails it and craftily deals with the fall out without getting too soppily emotional.

Touch of the Demon picks up right where Sins of the Demon leaves off; Kara has just been summoned to the demon realm.  The imagery was beautiful, and sometimes horrible; I had no issue sinking myself into the demon realm.   Unfortunately, I found the key aspect I’ve come to love about Kara to be lacking. She wasn’t able to be a detective in the demon realm.  Yes, she learned her craft after going through an incredible horrific betrayal, which left scars, both physical and mental. But that detective tenacity I loved about Kara, was missing.  She wasn’t solving a case; the plot seemed to get incredibly convoluted with a lot of extra info thrown in, and it bogged things down at times.  Almost 20 hours of an audiobook, that is a LONG time to be immersed in a world.  I loved Liv Anderson’s narration; yet I wasn’t in love with this story, as I have been with the others.  I am giving Touch of the Demon: Kara Gillina Book 5, 3 Boundless stars; it was good....Sara

I can honestly say that so far this is the best book in the series, you have revelations, heart break, and getting back up again i just could not put this book down, i thought that this series was slow but she has really picked up the pace, can't wait for what happens next

Will not read the next installment. Mad I spent money on this one. Turning a character we grew to like into the bad guy was to me not a good choice. Disappointed in where the book went.

I've read other combinations if writers to describe Diana Rowland but I'm going to add another. Rowland is a cross between Kim Harrison and Lillian St. Croix with the authority of a CSI tech and a detective thrown in for good measure. My only complaint is I can't tune in next week for the continued episode of Kara Gillian.

After the cliff hanger in the last book, I seriously didn't know where this book would pick up. As a reader, I was dreading what would happen to Kara if she was summoned into the Demon Realm. I actually liked the direction the series went. This allows for the story to feel more encompassing than just another Southern town saga with a romantic, mystified twist. This new material will allow for our heroine to grow within herself and to explore her newly found powers. In the next installment of the series I am hoping we see more of the demon realm and our beloved characters on Earth. I would like to see how they come together to stop the foul four! I can't wait to see where Diana Rowland takes us with Kara! Looking forward to it!!
