I received an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.  This book was such an emotional rollercoaster and I loved it! Drake is such a loving and loyal person, and you fall even more in love with him in this book.  The book starts two years after where Scarred Love ends. Presley and Drake have been dating for the last year and things have gotten very serious. When Presley's friend Delilah comes to town, Presley feels like life couldn't get any better. Well besides the nightmares she's been having, but she couldn't be more wrong. The nightmares have been getting worse and she doesn't feel like she can talk to anyone about what she's feeling. That's when she starts to do things that may completely ruin her and Drake's relationship. Drake has been feeling Presley pulling away from him, and doesn't know how to fix it. He has been trying to work so hard hard to give her whatever she needs and get a place of their own. After he finds out what she's been hiding, will he be able too forgive and forget? Will Drake and Presley get their happy ever after? This book definitely kept you guessing what happens next. M.S. Brannon does a fantastic job of writing such a suspenseful, and heart wrenching book. I can only imagine what the next book will be like. This is a definitely a MUST READ, and I will be recommending to all my friends and fellow book lovers!

I needed some recuperation time before I started this review. The first thing I will say is, Melissa, you are my f-ing hero right now. It takes a lot of courage to write what you did. This is a story that needs to be told. Wow... *crying* again There is so much sad/bad, sadder/badder (I know that's not a word) and saddest/baddest things that happen in this book, it's unreal. Just when you think things start looking up *SLAM* more heartache.  At first, I was disappointed in Presley. I thought, as did she, that she was selfish. It was so hard to get over that first bump in the road. I literally walked away from the book too many times. It took me TWO DAYS just to get through the first 40 something pages. I just couldn't do it. Then, it started to get better.  But wait, because then Presley starts to make another damn mistake and then I hated her again. However, things start to come out, explanations are made, and that's when I felt so much despair for her.  Things start looking up for Presley, she's found her groove, released the demons from her world, is coping nicely, and again, tragedy strikes. The last few pages of the book are complete, utter sadness. The hardest part of the book to get through, by far. I cried so damn much, wanting to walk away from the book, but won't because this is the worst moment and I just want to push through it. I want the misery to end.  I know some readers are going to be disappointed in this book, but hear me out. This is a story about some of the worst parts about life, living, and how to survive by letting family and friends in, letting them help you, being brave enough to admit your problems. Not everyone finds a happy ending, not every life goes through a trial or two and then it's sunshine and roses forever. This is about reality! And, it's not the end for Evans family. We will get to see more.

I'm a little numb as I write this review. This was a book that was both hard to read and impossible to set down. The author paints the emotions in such vivid detail that I found myself walking through this story with Drake and Presley. Every heartbreaking, uplifting, redeeming, tragic moment was sunk into me as the words flowed across the page to an ending that not everyone will be happy with, but is not an actual ending. Like life, it is another beginning on the heels of something unforgettable.

I loved, loved, loved this book. I just want to say right from the start to everyone thinking of reading this book I recommend you do not read the alternative ending. I certainly wish I hadn't. This is one of the most heart wrenching stories I've ever read. I cried so hard, (I mean screaming ugly crying.) This story deals with some very stong subject matter. My emotions were all over the place while reading this book. The love between Drake and Presley is so immense. Like none I've ever experienced but often fantasize about. Then little Mia comes into their lives and their love gets even bigger and stronger and brings a strong family even closer together. The suspense in this story is so intense that when I was finished reading I could finally breathe again. I didn't even realize I'd been holding my breath. This author is so amazing at making you feel such a strong bond with her characters. I highly recommend this series to everyone.

Unbelievable love. So deep. So tragic. So undeniable. Each time I couldn't think more could happen in these lives, bam, more. So much for these two young lovers to handle. They had both lived through more than they should've ever had to handle, only to have to face more. I actually liked this more than book 1 and I wasn't sure how my heart could break and then swell so much. Sulfur Heights and the Evans family show much more depth and connection in this book. Can't wait for book 3. ARC provided in exchange for honest review.

Gritty, raw, honest, nothing is sugar coated in this story. This is a very real look at the struggles of living and finding your way in this world. Presley has survived so much in 19 years and now has to deal with the aftermath of Robert's abuse. As she works to build a relationship with Drake, all of the horror weighs her down but she is afraid to tell anyone after being ridiculed as a child for battling depression. Drake is this amazing soul that has survived neglect and found his place in the Evans family, meeting Presley gave him the air he needs to breathe. I had my moments of frustration with Presley since she wouldn't talk to anyone but at the same time it all made sense, we all have doubts and struggles to which she was doing the best she could to survive. Did she make some bad decisions? In my viewpoint yes but in the context of who she is and what she has dealt with, no, she was doing what she needed to make it through each day. Delilah, Presley's best friend from Memphis, is a breath of fresh air to the Evans family. She really rattles Jake's cage and we start to see him find a better footing with his life. Reggie and Darcie are the rocks of the family and we get to experience their bliss. Jeremy remains pretty mysterious but at the same time starts to come out of his shell and show his support more openly to individual family members. M.S. Brannon has given us a wonderfully complex and diverse look at family demonstrating that a blood connection is not required. You will need your tissues with this installment and I would describe it as tragically beautiful love.

I loved this story and hated it at the same time. Presley has been thru so much and has accomplished so much. This story is so wonderfully written. For two people to have the love Drake and Presley have to get thru so much life obstacles was truly inspiring as to what you can get thru with love and support.

Tragic Love is the second book in the Sulphur Heights series by M.S. Brannon. This is another book where I am in the clear minority. It just wasn't for me. From the beginning, I didn't enjoy the main character. As a result, that brought my overall enjoyment of the book down. Presley kept making bad decisions followed by senseless lies. It was a repetitive pattern for her, and I quickly grew tired of it. So many books lately have had their main characters telling numerous amounts of senseless lies to their significant others causing relationship issues and what not, and I'm ready for a new kind of conflict. Presley had a tremendous amount of trauma in her life, but I don't think that's excuse enough for her to handle her life the way she has. I enjoyed Drake quite a bit though. He was definitely too good for Presley. I kept waiting for him to realize this. The ending pretty much sealed the deal for me. I didn't like it at all. There was an alternate ending too. With some things that were said by Drake a few times through the story, the alternate ending would have actually fit the story a little better. Although, I don't see Reggie letting it happen. Will I read more in the series? Yes, each book is stand alone. I enjoyed book one, and I really want to know more about the other characters as well. Tragic Love by M.S. Brannon was provided to me by Reading Addiction Virtual Blog Tours for review. The opinions are my own.

I am devastated after reading this book but absolutely loved it at the same time. During reading, I kept coming back and reading the other views. I wanted to do the unthinkable and jump to the ending.  Im glad I didnt and I cant wait to read The rest of the books and see how it all plays out.  I  highly recommend these books to anyone.  P.S. did not care for the alternate ending. Drake would not have done that!! Ever!!

Wow....I am at a total loss for words right now. Such a heart wrenching, emotional and beautiful story all in one. I didn't want to read the last few pages, I just kept telling myself it couldn't happen. The alt ending was just as sad, but the title really does paint a picture for the story. I can't wait to read the next few books in the series, I can't get enough of this family and their love for each other. Its def time to go take a breather now...

Wow, I am emotionally WRECKED right now with snot & tears. I had to ponder a day or so before writing my review. Lets just say this book fits its title "Tragic Love". It starts around 2 yrs later from Scarred Love. This is Drake Evans and Presley Quinn's story. This series is not for the faint of heart. You have to understand by reading a novel from any author, we cannot always get a HEA. I know that a lot of people use reading to escape but we do need to keep it interesting. I love Brannon's Sulfur Heights Series because she offers these different types of writing styles to her readers. We get to know Drake a whole lot more in this story of course and I think he is the sweetest of them all and after reading this book, could possibly be the strongest through all the trials and tribulations he had to face with Presley to the end. Presley faces her past demons and she uses sex and drugs to hide her pain. I don't want to give to much of the story but get ready with lots of ice cream and tissues. You get to be introduced to Presley's southern belle best friend Delilah which I fell in love with. She is always there for Presley through the hardest times. There is definitely some tension between her and Jake that is building and cannot wait for their story in Blind Love. Reggie and Darcie do get married in this book and you get some updates on them throughout Tragic Love. Jeremy, well, I am so curious about him that it is driving me insane. He is always quiet but has the best wisecrack phrases when he does speak up. “From the moment I locked eyes with hers, we've had this undeniable connection that was and will always be wicked. A love that would literally kill me if it didn't survive, but lately, could kill me if it did.” ~Drake Evans. Reviews posted on GR and Amazon

Woow, this book was good and bad at the same time.. Presley and Drake go through so much to be togrther, and finally when verything is falling into place.. Bamm, the absolute worst thing happens. You have grown to love these characters and what happens id just heart breaking. Yes this book shows real issues and things that actually happen, i just wish it wouldnt have ended like that. Books should have happy endings, thats what there for lol. So if thats what your looking for, this is not the book for you

I love the fact she kept it real. Will not give any spoilers. But that is what happens in real life when you deal with the scum of the earth. Read the book it is so worth it. For people who are saying certain things about the book. She explains that it was another way she could have ended the book to let her readers know what other direction it could've taken. This book was a Heartwrenching because it is something that coul happen in real life. YOU DID AN AMAZING JOB CAN NOT WAIT TO READ THE REST IN THIS SERIES.

Holy crap!this book had me in tears, yelling and so upset. So presley is dealing with nightmares of robert, and becoming deppressed then gets a pregnancy she does not want at all and only keeps the baby because drake wants to, then makes herself hate thebaby and becomes a heroen junkie and over doses, she nearly dies and drake makes her go to rehab for 3 months, when she gets back everything is perfect and happy then her drug supplier comes back and kills her, in the alternate ending drake ends up killing himself as soon as presley dies and leaves their baby to reggie and darcie, so sad I would stop with scarred love which was awesome

Ok...I liked the first book "Scarred Love"...however this book put me through an emotional wringer!!!!!! Overall, this book was better written than the first and dealt with alot of emotional issues pretty well--abuse, depression, drug use, pregnancy--but OMG!! They both fought so hard to be together and overcome obstacles only to have it end in the worst way possible!!!!! I was with this couple through it all and was waiting for love to conquer all--or at least make things a little bit better--only to be crushed in the last 20 pages!!! The author's explanation at the end of the book---I get it---tragic things do happen---but after all that happened in the book, this was one tragedy too many, especially after all the time spent getting to know and understand Pressley--pulling and fighting for her and her love with Drake. It just did not fit and really turned me off this book, and possibly the author. For other readers, be aware that there is no HEA--and never will be:(--and truthfully, I don't know where the author is going to go with future books with the family and Drake.
