Overview

TRAIN WRECK: The Life and Death of Anna Nicole Smith by Donna Hogan

She was the most outlandish, outrageous, in-your-face symbol of the age - and suddenly, shockingly, she was gone. In life her antics, adventures and behavior kept a nation riveted; in death she stunned a world gripped by the surprise and swiftness of her unexpected passing. The woman was, of course, Anna Nicole Smith. This is the story of the little girl from west of nowhere, born into a broken, dysfunctional, dirt-poor family, told by the one woman who knew her best - her sister. Her fierce resolve, pluck, luck and determination allowed her to claw her way to celebrity status, becoming a tabloid staple, and to reach the potential of unimaginable wealth. And then, in a moment, she was gone, not yet 40 years old. A Horatio Alger story with a bitter ending, TRAIN WRECK- The Life and Death of Anna Nicole Smith, is the definitive story of the rise and swift fall of one of the most compelling characters to blaze across the American sky.

I would not recommend this book. The author jumped around alot, switching between stories, and at times it seemed she wanted to talk about her life more than Anna Nicole's. Even the pictures were mostly of her, I thought that was a book about her sister? She said some pretty inflamatory things about alot of people, which made me question her credibility. She hadn't talked to her sister in over ten years so she had nothing insightful to say about her later years. Even the editing was bad, words were repeated, in one section a paragraph was repeated. It seemed they were in a big rush to get this book out in order to cash in on her death. Sad...

I AGREE this is a sad attempt to get some publicity. She talked down to Anna. She admitted that she didn't spend time with her. Plus this is her half sister which mean nothing reall. She might not have said anything nice at all in this book IDK! but i'm justsaying this because i know Donna didn't like Anna and you can tell in her voice when she talks about her ANNA NICOLE RIP

She her self addmitted to not spending any real quality family time with Anna Nicole. This book is nothing more than a sad attempt from Donna and whatever publishing company put this trash out to profit off of Anna Nicole Smith- May she rest in peace

Good old Anna Nicole's sister came to our Barnes and Noble to promote this book, signing every copy with a little heart. She obviously has written this book to promote her own career rather than to set to rest rumors about the tragic life of her sister Anna Nicole.

The 'woman who knows her best' was on Dr. Phil today and admitted that she has not spoken to Anna Nicole Smith for at least 12 years. This book is nothing more than an opportunity to make money off the death of her sister. It is also filled with hateful statements and opinions, none of which are based on truth. The author herself said that she 'reads the tabloids' and this is where she got some of the information in her book. We all know how honest tabloid writers are. It is worth mentioning that the only photo of the author and Anna Nicole together takes place at a public book signing, where the author 'her half-sister' had to buy Anna's calendar, stand in line with all the other strangers to Anna, and wait to have it signed and pose for a picture. The author also says horrible things about Howard Stern, a man she has never ever met! Do not buy this book and put money in this woman's pocket. What a despicable person. Imagine your sibling........would you EVER write about them after their death with a poison pen?

This book demonstrated to me the exact reason why Anna Nicole chose to keep her family distant. Donna Hogan jumped at any chance to insult and take cheap shots at her sister. For someone who had lost a family member, you would have expected that this book would have shown some love and compassion towards Anna. I actually got the book from the library, so I am happy that I didn't have to spend any money to read this garbage. I can't say that I was a huge fan of Anna Nicole but I can say that she seemed to be a really beautiful person inside and out. I could see that she did care for those around her. She did have problems, but no one knows what her life was like except for those she chose to keep close. Donna Hogan should be ashamed of herself.Claiming to have loved her sister! She was jealous of her and even says it in the book. She constantly contradicts herself and the story is written like a child. Donna would try to justify any bad decisions she made in her life and showed no mercy when it came to her sister's choices in life. What a pitiful way to be. Rest in peace Anna Nicole and Daniel!

the title of this book should have been Train Wreck life of Donna Hogan. This was a poor excuse for a book.I think donna did this for her own career. It seems to me that alot of this story was made up because there are no facts to back it up. I did buy the book only to see what donna had to say and I thought it was terrible I am a big Anna Nicole fan and have been for along time. I just think she released the book to cash in on her so called sisters death and it failed. I myself would not reccomend this book. Donna will have to be the one to live with the guilt of smut that she has put in this book. If she knew Anna so well how come there was only one picture of them together in the whole book and it was at a book signing come on this women is full of it. I did return the book because to me the women doesn't deserve to make any profit off of it

If you have absolutely no life and limited common sense, then this book is for you! Anyone else...save your time, money and energy. The author reveals more about herself and lack of good character than she reveals about Anna Nicole Smith. Shame on her!

I can't get enough of Hollywood celebrity gossip. This one has it all - the rags-to-riches and then fall from heights, the behind the scenes stuff about the marriage to the old man, everything was great. Donna seems sincere - and just as trashy as you want her to be.

This is a great book. I believe she is very honest on how long she knew anna nicole. They were alike in may ways, and both were headed to a trainwreck, but donna got her life together and is now raising her kids. I encourge people to read it before they talk about how bad it is.

This book doesn't hold back. It reveals everything there is to know about where anna came from and it shows you why anna was so desperate to escape and make a name for herself. It's completely trashy and I loved it. I couldn't put it down.

That was a personal attack not a book review. Is that someone from Anna's family? Train Wreck: The Life and Death of Anna Nicole Smith was a fun and sexy read. I'm happy I bought it.

I purchased this book at Barnes and Noble in Texas. I heard about it in a newspaper article and thought that I would enjoy the read since I have been following the Anna Nicole story in the TV. So I get the book home and start reading it. It was really amazing how fun of a read it is. Anna's life is a movie and I'm sure will be one soon! The book has a ton of pictures in the middle and diary entries in the back. If you have been enjoying the Anna Nicole story in the media you'll love to find out the scoop from her sister.
