Emma Walters didn't choose to be a spy, but when her crazy father was caught selling bombs to the wrong people, she was given a choice--become a spy or rot in jail. Her exciting new life as agent Kate Wells becomes more so when she discovers her new boss is the agent--undercover and investigating her father at the time--who took her to third base. Emma is already half in love with the dark and dangerous Chase Sanders. Kate wants nothing more than for him to finish what he started, but he's the devil incarnate. And one doesn't make deals or fall in love with the devil.

If someone had told Chase he'd fall in love with a certain virgin when he was on his last mission, he would have shot them dead, sniper style. She was nothing more than collateral damage, damn it. But watching the sexy new spy morph into a bombshell killing machine is too much to bear. So when the powers that be command him to train her in the art of seduction for her first--and possibly last--mission, he's scared witless. Making love to Kate means preparing her for sex with another man.

Somehow, Chase has to find a way to get Kate in--and out--of her mission without dying. And without falling in love.

I was given an ARC for a honest review. The story is definitely unbelievable but if the connection between the characters was better than the "fantasy" of this story wouldn't be a problem. The story didn't hold my interest and it took me awhile to finish this book. As much as I enjoy the sex scenes there has to be something tying the whole story together. And I found the heroine a bit annoying too.

This was a good read for me, I found the story very entertaining with plenty of suspense and drama. The sex is very steamy, seemed to be on the edge of BDSM but just not there. Overall the story flows really well and is a steamy entertaining read.

Trained for Seduction by Mia Downing Spy Games #1 Erotica set in spy-land…although there was not much about being a spy in the story. This was more a vehicle for erotic encounters between a new spy, Emma Kate, and her boss, Chase. Add in, toward the end, their mutual friend Jake and you had a ménage. I would have to say that the spy part was so-so, the storyline could have done with some fleshing out, the characters needed more development and even the sex scenes were okay but not as entertaining as some I have read. Thank you to NetGalley and The Wild Rose Press for the copy of this book. This is my honest review. 3 Stars

Trained for Seduction is a spy romance. I was not impressed with the story or the plot. The characters were ok and develop but I didn’t, couldn’t fall in love with them. Emma was full of confusion for me, she alone didn’t know which role to play. The author was trying to show Chace like a Dom, I’m not expert but he was not close to Dom with his actions. There is a lot of sex and just sex some training and a quick action. I like it more when the story and the sex scenes have balance. *ARC provided by Netgalley and author in exchange for an honest review

Trained for Seduction was one heck of a fun ride. It was sexy, suspenseful, and just an all around fun book to read. I've read a few of Mia's books in the past, but this one is my favorite so far. The only thing I wanted more of was maybe some action between Chase and Jake, but that SO isn't going to happen much to my dismay. The attraction is there, but I think Chase's issues with his Uncle will keep that from ever coming to fruition. Anyhoo, so the story is about Kate (Emma) who is leading a new life and the guy she thought was a distant memory turns out to now be her boss. What started out as a one-weekend deal to take care of business, develops into so much more than either of them were expecting...and it's hot...oh so very hot! Throw in a bit of action and suspense on top of that, and you have the makings of an awesome read in my humble opinion. Now I can't wait to dive into the next book, because I'm betting more steamy, sexy, and suspenseful times are to come. I'm also interested to see who can tame wild boy Jake.

Great read! This is the first book I've read by Mia Downing & the first in a series about hot & sexy spies. I liked the story between Kate & Chase - it was an interesting twist on love at first glance. They relationship between them started in a interesting way & set the tone for the rest of the book. And I loved Jake- can't wait to read his story. Advanced Reader Copy provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

While I have read other books by Ms. Downing, I have never actually read one of her MF books before. To be honest, I was a bit leery about it because usually I don’t enjoy books that are such different genres, but by the same author. But let me tell you… HOLY WOWZER!!! Once I started reading this book, I just couldn’t put it down! I’m not usually a fan of the action/spy books, but there was just something about this one that I couldn’t get enough of. I do believe that Ms. Downing did a great job at the world building she did in this story. She set it up really well for a first book in the series, and while this story does end with a HEA, I was left wondering what was going to happen to the other characters. Needless to say, I can’t wait to start book 2! I completely recommend this book to everyone. Reviewed by Crystal Marie for Crystal’s Many Reviewers *Copy provided for review*

Reviewed by Victoria Book provided by The Wild Rose Press Review originally posted at Romancing the Book Trained for Seduction is the first book in the Spy Games series by Mia Downing. I chose this book because I have enjoyed every Mia Downing book I have read. I have not read a bad book my Ms. Downing and this book did not disappoint. Emma Walter with the help of plastic surgery became Kate Wells. She is a super smart and sexy woman. She is confident in her abilities. She agreed to being trained as a spy rather than go to prison. She comes across as a likable character one that your heart goes out to as she battles Chase for his heart. Chase Sanders is a smart, sexy and confident man. He hungers for the one woman that got away from him, Emma who is now Kate. Chase guards his heart because in the end due to his job he thinks that most people will hate him and it’s just better that way. He is a very complicated person. It seems that Chase is his own worst enemy. The chemistry between Kate and Chase is explosive. They are a good match for each other in and out of the bedroom. I loved that the thing that attracted Chase to Kate the most was her mind. The sex scenes were blistering hot. I loved that Kate was not intimidated by Chase in anyway not even when they first meet. I loved this book! There is nothing that could have improved this story, it was perfect just the way it was. This book goes in the small pile of book that I will re-read in the future. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series! I already have it on my e-reader and I will be starting it once I am finished writing this.

COVER DESIGN: Intriguing contrast of light and dark. Nice mix of romance, passion, and adventure/ action. The font is bold and block, which is perfect and definitely makes me want to read the book more. WHAT I LIKED: The dedication is funny, but still so sweet: “To my husband, for snoring. If you didn’t snore, I wouldn’t have been spending decadent nights with a dark, dangerous Lord of the Spies.” The author’s use of descriptions sucks you in to the story, making you forget that you are reading a book and not actually living out the events. Mia Downing has a specialty when it comes to sex scenes. *Wipes forehead and fans self* WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE: Would have liked to see more of Jake, but maybe he will have his story some day
