About the Author
In the early 1940s, a loving father crafted a small, blue, wooden engine for his son, Christopher. The stories that this father, the Reverend W. Awdry, made up to accompany this wonderful toy, were first published in 1945. He retired from writing in 1992. Reverend Awdry died in 1997 at age 85.

Book was mint
When I bought this, I thought it was one of the Bright and Early Board Books. My son (3) has some of those, which he loves. This is a regular hardcover book, but it is still great. The text is nice and big, so it should be easy for him to read in a year or two. He likes the repetition.
